I agree that no bake cookies are one of the best. Like many here, we have all been making these for years. I got my recipe 45 years ago from my neighbor who worked in the cafeteria at the high school. I've seen so many of the same ingredients just made differently. I add vanilla extract like others have said here. What I have not seen until your video, is them being made this way. But they look the same and yummy. Great cookies. And yes, passing this recipe through generations will be a winner for all.

exactly the way I make mine, only I don't put 3 cups of oatmeal I like to taste the chocolate so I just add till I think it is enough cause the minute oats cook and if you arent careful it will be full of flakes and be white in the middle, I also mix sugar and chocolate really good first and don't put "real butter" in until it cooks and off the stove plus I use vanilla flavoring.. key is extra peanut butter but I use smooth.. been told best they ever eat..

You could use erythritol sugar instead as a healthy sugar instead of the white sugar. Also, as much as 2 cups of sugar will make any sugar addict happy, I would reduce the amount slightly so it doesn't kill with sweetness. Thanks for taking the time to do this. One day when I run out of healthy sweets I will try this maybe. I am amazed at all the sweets recipes on KZbin. Someone needs to do healthy recipes that taste great. @christinabarry86272 жыл бұрын
When doing any kind of baking you should always use butter not margarine. Due to the oil and water content in margarine, Cookies especially, they will cook better and stay softer longer. **A baking tip for you to try next time you bake a cake, either from scratch or a box. Stir in a large table spoon of mayonnaise to your mix. Your cake will turn out sooooo moist and will stay moist. You wont taste the mayonnaise at all!**

Can you use old fashioned oats?
@amodernalchemist4323 жыл бұрын
The recipe calls for quick oats because they are done pretty much instantly. Old fashioned oats take too long to cook for this recipe imo. Raw oats are hard on our digestive systems so I would recommend using quick oats to prevent a sore stomach or indigestion.
@pinkoknitter14213 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use old fashioned rolled oats. A lot of recipes for this type of cookie calls for rolled oats rather than quick cook oats, and I normally use rolled oats because that is what I have in my pantry. I like the chewier texture rolled oats gives the cookies. Another option, if you don't have quick cooking oats, is to put the rolled oats in a blender or food processor and pulse a few times to chop up the oats into smaller pieces.
