The original spell is countered but all the copies are not cast and don't trigger Chalice. Reminds me of playing back in the Mirrodin block. I called my deck a bruise deck because it was a UB affinity beatdown deck filled with Broodstar, Nims, and Cranial Plating. A friend was overly confident his elf ball deck could take it. I used a Wail of Nim entwined on T4 which wiped out his board. From there, it was just an overrun with frogs and broodstar. Good times!

Nice! I love card market personally. Much cheaper solution to building decent decks without having to cycle through a billion boosters. No need for chrome mox when you have Mox Opal 😎 and as for thoughtcast, I ran 4 thought monitor which I believe to be a better thought cast as it brings a body along with it. I was indeed playing two ravager and should have possibly played 2 more over the steel overseer. But skullcamp would not fit in this deck as I would much rather have permanents on the board than cards in my hand

IDK why ravager affinity felt so dirty back when it first came out. Granted, creatures weren't as good back then so removal wasn't as good back then. how did u played the monitor with the floading mana from the urza sage which u had to sacrifice in your drawstep? the mana became gone since u went to the next phase. your mainphase 1. and your creature didnt had flash and even if it would have, u needed the affinity for it through the ornithopter which doesnt had flash also.^^ that play was not legal possible.^^

EVERY SINGLE TIME we decide to do No-Banned-List modern, I build a storm deck. Every time. And then realize the games would be too short and, without any key sideboard cards from my opponent, the games would be one-sided non-games. So I switch to another deck. This izzet deck is way too fair for Modern and should take a page from Vintage and Legacy if it wants to counter the truly broken stuff. For one of these newer versions I'd love to see something like: Threats (8): 4 DRC 4 Third Path Iconoclast Counters (10): 4 Mental Misstep 4 Pact of Negation 2 Subtlety Cantrips (12): 4 Gitaxian Probe 4 Ponder 4 Preordain Card draw (8): 4 Treasure Cruise 4 Expressive Iteration Removal (8) 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Unholy Heat Lands (14): 4 Scalding Tarn 4 Flooded Strand 2 Steam Vents 2 Island 1 Mountain 1 Mystic Sanctuary Not a modern player, so not sure about the sideboard.
