I'm so glad to have discovered your channel! You are opening up a whole new world of possibilities for me! I still need to learn which flours can be substituted for which others, but you have given us a thankfully smaller list of possibilities! You make it fun!

Yay! Thanks for making your own blends instead of making store bought ones. And you don't have silly gums ie xantham gum, etc

I had never before seen gluten free dough prepared this way-and it’s glorious. You just opened a whole world of possibilities to me! I already have a flour mix that I made with Tapioca, Arrowroot, Potato Starch, sweet White Rice and Brown Rice. I’m wondering if there’s a variation I can make of this with adding the ground sweet potato to it. I wish we had the perfect purple sweet potatoes w/ white inside more readily available! 🍠

I had used some brand flour mix before I've made No Binder GF Recipes with mushed sweet potatoes. You can watch the Steamed mantou video.

Hii! Looks lovely. In my country we only have orange sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. What is the best substitute for your sweet potato?
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree9 ай бұрын
Using creamy regular potato is better than orange sweet potato because the regular potato has less moisture than orange sweet potato.

Hello Lucy, can I use this dough recipe for pan fried Chinese beef patties? Or is there another recipe that is more suitable? Thanks in advance 🌸
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree4 ай бұрын
Another recipe, beef rolls, is better for fried pan Chinese beef patties.

Can I just bake these in the oven? I don't have an air fryer.
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree3 жыл бұрын
It needs higher temperature for short time baking if using an oven. The pie will be hard if baking long time.

Thank you for this gluten free recipe!! Can you do gluten free lectin-free recipes as many more people are now suffering leaky guts and won’t be able to have wheat flour, potatoes and other lectin high foods?
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree2 жыл бұрын
Don't worry about lectins, they disappear after food processing. Research shows that soybean lectins are almost completely inactivated when boiled at 212°F (100°C) for at least 10 minutes.

Hi! Thanks for the recipe! You're amazing..I've tried this , 200°C 12 minutes in the air fryer, but mine didn't come out crunchy like yours. I still could enjoy, it's soft and enjoyable in the room temperature. Anyway, why I couldn't make that layers like yours? I already rolled and did the step you made. Was it too much/thick butter dough? Or maybe I put the butter dough too little? Anyway, you're awesome with your recipe..
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree Жыл бұрын
Maybe the butter is not enough or has higher moisture.
@liyaamalia2810 Жыл бұрын
Oh that makes sense. Maybe the butter has high moisture. Thanks! Have a great weekend.

This may be obvious but- Why is the sweet potato white?
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree3 жыл бұрын
You can use other sweet potatoes. Different sweet potatoes have different water content.

Lucy 你好,我已跟足份量,但麵團很硬,焗後很硬很乾,還食到粉味,是什麼原因呢?
@lucymeishinobinderglutenfree3 жыл бұрын
Astrid 你好! 应该还是水分的原因。面团水与粉的比例约0.75,应该是比较软的,视频里可以看到面团要用烤纸托住才能操作。你放了番薯吗?你是用空气锅烤还是烤箱?

Oh IDK. Soy sauce and Coriander. I am up for the soy sauce, but Coriander would ruin the "Traditional Meat Pie". I understand this is Asian inspired, but absolutely NO coriander. I would substitute the soy sauce with a Gluten Free Onion and Gravy or GF Gravy. Boiled Cut Potato's are nice, but not traditional Pie ingredient, although, Potato and Leek Pie is good, and Shepherds Pie (Mashed potato on top, no Pie crust lid). I feel the Asian's misinterpret the Western Dishes.
@leekflower12 жыл бұрын
Was this intended to be a western dish?
@thithachnguyen89132 жыл бұрын
It ‘s her recipe ,no need to interpretation your own 😩!
@grovermartin6874 Жыл бұрын
@@leekflower1 We can all use the basic gluten-free ingredients and proportions for our own recipe choices. I use others' recipes as jumping-off places for my own taste. That's what's good about doing our own cooking, isn't it?!
@sqshhm9 ай бұрын
It's not a misinterpretation, it's her Asian take on a Western dish, the same way we in the West often put our own spin on dishes from around the world to suit our own tastes and locally available ingredients. Never heard of "fusion" cooking? I, for one, quite like the sound of this "east meets west" pie! But if you don't, you can put whatever filling you like in it.
