The Oskar Schindler of saving boxes. "I could have saved more. I could have saved even more. If I'd just... I could have saved more. If I extended my jump height. I threw away so much potential. You have no idea. If I'd just... The mask! The enemies would have given me i-frames! Why did I keep the mask?! 4 boxes! 4 more boxes! The checkpoint! 6 boxes! It's a single checkpoint! 6 boxes! I could have saved 6, at least 3! I could have saved 1 more box... and I didn't. And I... didn't!" -Xlaiden

WOAH! Glad to see that more is possible. I'm sure there's some super elaborate way to save more boxes, but it'll take a while to find.

You can straight up cut all the boxes from the boulder levels if you just play the PS1 version. The boxes don’t count as broken unless you personally break them there. The remake made it easier to get 100% of the boxes.

Yeah, I'd love to see a continuation of this series where they attempt this in the PS1 games.

Is that actually true? The boulders hop over some boxes you expect them to break. You could possibly use NSS to hit a checkpoint and die in time before they break the ones they come into contact with

@@danegel it’s ingrained in my mind from all the struggles to 100% those levels over the years

No, some boxes can't be broken by the boulder, but if you or the boulder does break a crate it is still counted by the game.

There is a glitch called HOBSLIDE (slide spinning with high speed, FASTER than running shoes) used by speedrunners that must save a lot of boxes in Crash Dash, the problem is that it's really hard to perform. Maybe you could use Hobslide combined with Crash 2's dynamic difficulty modifier, but affecting the boulder

I just replayed Crash 2 myself after watching your original video. I think you could have done the coloured gems as none of them require any additional boxes to be broken, and the coloured gem path on Spaced Out has no boxes. That said, you do have break 2 boxes to get to the secret exit to Snow Go, but you haven't got the Crystal yet at that point so maybe that counts?

I wonder if the new movement technique can help lower the Crash 3 total

Do the running shoes ones truly count though? Since they require you to beat the game in the first place before you can use them.

i mean yeah, he did the same with crash 3 and re_visited some of the levels again ones he had all the power_ups so i don't see why is this a big deal

I don't personally have a problem with this but each to their own.

@@clearspira Well it changes the context from beating the game breaking as few boxes as possible to 'beating all levels while breaking as few boxes as possible'.
