Do you help fix original boosted board batteries? I towed it behind my car and it then allowed me to charge it again. Once charged, it didn’t automatically pair with the remote (it’s been a few years). So I tried to pair it up and it won’t. When I turn the board on now, it turns green for a second, then blinks fast red. And when I try to charge it again, it’s not acting like it did after I towed it, it’s blinking red a little more randomly

Is heat gun will help you remove silicone between the case and plastic cover quicker?

I do use a heat gun nowadays, but there is a risk of melting, especially if you’ve never opened it before. I’d stick to a screwdriver and a butter knife for the first one!

Hi thanks for the video. did you ever have to change the ISP25LP128? I would use hot air but the circuit board seems to be glued to the pack. It also seems like there is some cepton tape for thermal isolation under the circuit board? If there is i should be able to resolder the chip with hot air without seperating the circuit board from the pack. And yes i am aware of the amount of stored energy. Thanks and Greets!

@@xrgeneralhospital i think so. When i start the Board now i get the blod on the first start but at the second start it starts uo showing 2 and a half led as cahrging status. While charging the board knows the real charge sate. Afterwords it doesent so i would suggest it cant acces the flash to store the voltages of each Cell

Great video, out of curiosity there was rumours that the first few batches of XR batteries were the best. Have you seen anything to support this? Also why is the standard range battery less likely to fail? Thank you (I’ve subscribed)

Good question! Batch 1 XRs for whatever reason are rumored to be less likely to fail, but this could be for a variety of reasons. I suspect the main reason is that people who owned it kept the battery plugged in all the time. The newer the firmware, the better the XR. The SR battery is much more stable because of its chemistry, and because they must have left a bigger threshold for it to operate.

TL;DR: can I replace just the faulty cells? Myself? I've got a battery w over 1k miles, and it keeps RLODing.. I have the Amnesia chip installed so I can reset and balance/charge, but find myself having to do so more and more often. I have a feeling it's just a few cells at the end of their life span causing this, and if I replaced them, battery would be in good health again.

Great question! There are a few methods. My favorite is straight through the balance connector by removing it carefully from the BMS.

You can install Flashrom using Brew! Should be “brew install flashrom” or something like that in the command line

The white color is paper wrapping. If you dissect it further, you will find brown LGHG2 cells.

I found out how to reset RLOD. Short pin 1 and 2 on ISSI IS25LP128 chip. I've made a short video on it.

This method technically works, but may have unknown effects on the flash chip. Are you able to demonstrate that doing so doesn’t cause permanent damage to the flash chip?

Thanks for this! i was very sketched out with levering the battery out, doing it as you said in the middle of each cell worked, though it looks like there's 3 metal fins on each side that slide into the plastic case, i broke all 6 of those, ho hum. What do you use to glue the battery back in once you're finished?
