I love that you carry a spare blanket to gift to someone who needs it. THAT tells me exactly the kind of person you are! Thank you. And I am grateful to finally see a 'no build' build, something that's do-able for anyone, instead of some unrealistic Instagram type craziness. Enjoyed your video. Happy adventures to you.

Loved this,!!! Dude i went thru So many stupid irritating builds that only complicated everything in my Subie🚗Watched your video and ripped everything out and tried your set up, it’s great! A lot of room and easy to get the stuff I need. No more screwing around with doors, shelving and slides, etc. Thanks for the idea!

Great to see a no build camper version. This is exactly what I am doing as I don't want to add a whole lot of woodwork in the back. I just need something for a few nights to camp in. Great video. PS I also have the Jackery 240 and it is great.

Cool! I have the same layout in my Outback for the same reasons you described - I wanted it to look like a regular car whenever possible. I was also doing the unflattering somersault until I realized I wanted to do a “no exit” transfer so I manage to move from front seats to back by doing an awkward pretzel.

Thanks so much for showing me a possibility that does not have to include any build at all. Definitely eases my mind cuz I was seeing so many videos with so many options I was kind of getting analysis paralysis. I think I'll pretty much follow your example and then after a couple of test runs I'll get a better idea of anything I might want to add. Then if more space is needed I'll either get a cot or build a simple bed frame.

Could have used a Jackery and that little fan in summer 2018 when waiting an extra day in a Titusville park for Parker Solar launch. I tried camping out in the back of my Toyota Yaris coupe. It worked but I about suffocated because I didn't know about refletex and was using blankets for privacy. I'm seriously looking at Outback as my next car.

It's a very doable no build camper car set up. I can see you have everything covered right down to N95 masks n first aid kit. God bless you for your emphatic trait in having a spare blanket to gift to someone in need. You're a kind person Stay that way OK. Take care, stay n keep safe.

Liked your video. I have pretty much the same setup, but I have the Generarc 1000 Battery pack. Looks just like the Jackery! I also ordered a curtain to conceal the rear area and also have reversable Black/Silver window covers to insulate and more privacy. I also have a small one person heating blanket and 3" memory foam mattress. I also use a single use Mr Coffee Kureg machine to heat water for my Freeze-dried food pouches and make a nice cup of tea or cappuccino.

Always at least one little nugget to take from someone else's experience in doing this. One note on the USB fan. They're great, but I don't bother with the Jackery. I've got a 240 myself, but before last weekend's trip to a horror film festival in KC, I broke out one of my little battery packs - I think it was a 5K one - and it ran my metal USB desk fan that I got a few years ago for about 6.5 hours before dying. I mentioned that it's metal because its parts are a little more substantive/heavier than those in the plastic fans we have now, so it might work even longer on the new fans. For power, I just find that it's nice having something that small that I can dedicate to the fan rather than having the Jackery out during the night. But, again, that's for sleeping at night. During the day might as well have everything out. But to each his own. With the cooler, they're just nice to have, but the tough thing seems to be finding one to accommodate the bags of ice you buy, plus food. If you get the 6# bag of ice and it's enough for your cooler, the cooler is probably too small to put much in the way of food in (even though you really usually only have a couple of sandwiches and drinks in there at any given time. But then the cooler sizes tend to jump considerably and you need to buy about 15# of ice to fill the darn thing, which suddenly has to be in about the 28-qt. range, which is generally bigger than you need. The good-sized Playmates would be a decent medium, but when space is at a premium you kind of like a flat-top cooler to put things on. Regardless, I either have it on the floor of the side of the back in which I'm sleeping, supporting my head, or sitting on the front seat during the night. One thing I recommend to people as a storage solution is one of those plastic 3-drawer units you can get at Walmart for about $15. I don't bother using the wheels, of course. Pretty much everything else I bring fits in it other than bulkier clotheing. And on this trip I found that I can also slide my tablet into the side of it to that it's inside the frame but held in place by the side of a drawer, and I can watch Netflix, etc., without having to use its case, which puts it at an angle, etc. I've also mounted some velcro pads to the sides of the drawers where I can mount a taplight during the night. Here's the link for the drawer unit. BTW, I drive a Mazda CX-5, so it's in that RAV4/CRV size range as well. www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-3-Drawer-Cart-Black/15940590?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=4256&&adid=22222222227000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9017958&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=15940590&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjw37iTBhCWARIsACBt1IzTy3_zdiKchLsR9kPotOAX_Mqsi0ALAuwmANB9ItBvrfNC_O_WKe4aAoq8EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)

Is it really comfortable without a wooden base?
@YosemiteScubaDiver3 жыл бұрын
I sleep in my forester. Tried your bed setup. Very uncomfortable. Home depot. Cut that pink solid insulation to fit and use 2 foot by 4 foot by 1/8 inch plywood to strengthen and flatten your base. Then the air mattress. There's that highly uncomfortable bump and higher angle of the back seat to flatten out.

Since you have a Jackery power station....you can get a 12v tea kettle 2 boil 💧 water 4 coffee ☕ 🍵 tea. Instant soup 🍲 or cream of wheat, etc. They also make 12v sauce pans and skillets 🍳 . I got a small 12v Fridge/freezer on sale for about $80 @ Camping World which I kept on freezer mode to freeze some 💧 water bottles which I would put in the ice chest to keep soda or water or fruit....anything that I wanted cold but didn't have 2b refrigerated so it wouldn't ho bad. Meat or frozen things would go in the ice chest 2 help keep stuff cold as well as defrost slowly till I was ready to cook it.
