Dude, not having to with the fuss, mess, and build-up from waterproofing corners and bands is a huge benefit to this system. The sad thing the majority of our jobs are from custom builders who dry pack and board with Densshield, so a lot of pre-folding bands are still in my future.

Love watching your videos as I not only learn from them, I'm also motivated to work much cleaner while installing. Love that Laticrete kit. Will have to consider it when I opt to redo my master bathroom hopefully after the first of the year.

Well.. that's not Keying in the substrate but if you say so. They must do things differently Where You Are lol. Use the flat side of the trowel push the thinset into the substrate then turn the trowel around and rake it, raking it only is not keying in the substrate! Thank you

I thought you were supposed to fill the entire curb with thin set so there's not a void.We've stepped on it the next day and punched through before on the foam schluter curb.

Another great video! How do you handle cutting the Laticrete pans? Do you have to maintain the "groove" that is there? Have you mixed Schluter trays with Laticrete Hydro Ban board? If so, what type of waterproofing at the wall/pan junction? Thanks!!

We need an answer Landberg if you do have one , doing self leveling before the shower pan is not a time saver for sure, love to see this as a hybrid between schluter and laticrete

Would I be able to eliminate the banding if I set the Hydroban board on a mud pan tray with a recessed edge & covered with Hydroban membrane and sealed with Hydroban sealant? Most shower pans I've installed are not "stock" sizes and therefore could not have the perimeter recess like the one in your video has.

Laticrete says you can use their adhesive/sealant around the shower pan seams to waterproof instead of the banding/corners?

How long does one have to wait on the silicone adhesive to dry so we can waterproof test the shower pan?
@LandbergTileTV2 жыл бұрын
2 hours. This is off Laticrete data sheet Flood Testing Allow for flood testing in 2 hours at 70°F (21°C) and 50% RH or higher before flood testing. Cold and /or dry conditions will require a longer curing time.

Help, please. What would you do if you had to fit this 32x60 in a smaller rectangle (3 walls and a curb) and the drain was in the middle and off-center. Respectfully, videos like this are educational and helpful. However, more often than not a 32x60 pre-fab stock pan has to be cut and custom fit into a space. Consequently, the decisions are to either minimize your cuts and sacrifice your perimeter, level edges and wallboard rabbet or cut the board multiple times preserving the factory edges and piecing it back together. Was I overthinking that factory edge needed to be preserved? We want a nice straight line where the tiled walls meet the pan floor.
@LandbergTileTV5 ай бұрын
Factory edge is not a big deal with rectified tile, a diamond pad can make it look factory.

Love how many ways you can waterproof a shower pan. I’m currently working on a shower at home with the same style tile - mosaic flat marble stone. What do you usually use to seal this kind of tile? Do you seal before or after grouting? Love the channel! Keep the content coming!!!

Trowel size for setting the pan. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time after setting the pan do keep the process going and the pan not moving around while its setting in the thinset.

Nice video but I like having tape in the corners. The build up is minimal if done right, it doesn't take long or cost much, and I sleep better. I'm not fond of foam either, especially for small tiles.

Probably right depending on your location. Had a quote from a contractor for a tub shower tile surround come in $9-11k. Total bathroom remodel was $18-20k. Used laticrete hydroban as my backer and waterproofed for the shower, and complet d the entire bathroom for under $7k using higher end material than what was quoted. If you sub it out, it’s 11. If you have some know how, diy would probably be 3-5k

Landberg is top notch for sure. There’s a satisfaction one gets from doing a job of this magnitude themself even if the quality is 80% of a professional for 1/3 the price. This shower I did being my second, I definitely made a few errors but am like 90% happy with the overall job. Also, using this system gave me tons of confidence that I’ll have no water issues.
