Hi Doc, I’ve learned so much from you, and I want to thank you for all the knowledge and work you do on all these videos. I’m having tremendous success following your advice. I had triple bypass last year, and since then I lost 25 pounds, lowered blood pressure, eliminated symptoms of sleep apnea, sleep great now, have a super healthy diet, dropped the meds after 30 days after the surgery, exercise vigorously (muscle and cardio) every day, and I’m at my best mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Thank you for helping to make all this happen. My own doctors never suggested any of these regimens that have made me healthy. Instead, they wanted me to stay on meds. How is it that the vast majority of medical doctors are so adverse to this healthy approach, and how is it they are so stubborn and refuse to acknowledge the truths you teach?
@JeffSaleBoat Жыл бұрын
Sadly, it's because the medical schools are all funded by the pharmaceutical companies, so it's all the doctors are taught in school, they have to learn natural health remedies on their own, and they don't get any kickbacks for prescribing them.

A generally low carb diet is such a major improvement, it doesn't seem sensible to stress over the small amount of carbs in green vegetables, when you used to eat pizza's the size of small tables. Rather than announcing that you are going to morph into a paleo cave person overnight, surely it's more sensible to steadily ease carbs down when you can, along with some gentle fasting, then you can get used to the blood pressure drop (biggest killer in the developed world?) and the general beneficial feeling of it. Lose weight steadily over 6-12 months, enjoy your journey and your success, after all it's something you want to continue, bearing in mind how many normal diets don't work.

Very sensible advice. My low-carb plan (just starting) will revolve around meat, eggs, some green veggies and some salads. The main objective is to give up obvious sugars (soda, sweets, junk food and fast food) and replacing those foods with real/healthy foods. I also plan to have random cheat days (until no longer needed) as a way to relieve stress/anxiety/cravings. The only true obstacle will be bread. I don't know how to eliminate or replace bread...so much of my daily diet consists of bread products. If i have success everywhere else and make bread the final hurdle, i should be ok in the long run.

I have followed this information and since watching my first video, 1 July I have lost 9 pounds. I am impressed beyond words. This is the material that should be taught in school with parents and students. I have eaten my own body weight in Sweets. Perhaps double this or triple in 64 years . 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🩸 High blood sugar can occur even with a zero-carb diet due to gluconeogenesis. 01:18 🍞 The glycemic index is limited in usefulness as it primarily focuses on high-glycemic carbohydrates, ignoring other factors. 03:01 💡 Protein can impact blood sugar and insulin levels, with different types of proteins affecting the body differently. 06:32 💪 Insulin plays a role in storing both glucose and amino acids as fat and muscle tissues, respectively. 16:04 🥚 Whole eggs have higher protein utilization compared to just egg whites due to the presence of essential amino acids, impacting insulin response. This is me!!! I am diabetic and nuts and beans raise my blood sugar! I cut all nuts & beans out of my diet. My blood glucose is much more stable. Today I went for my morning walk and I stayed out too long. My vision started getting wiggles on my peripheral vision. I knew my blood sugar was way too low. I got home and checked my blood glucose and it was at 100 😬 I instantly ate a food I normally can’t eat because my blood sugar goes to high and ate it with celery to balance out the sugars. 20 minutes later I was much better. Had I not been home I would have taken my glucose tablets I carry with me in case this happens where I don’t have access to food. It’s so important to track YOUR blood sugar and YOUR symptoms and know how all foods affect YOUR blood sugar. Remember blood sugar and food symptoms is a bell curve. Foods don’t always affect everyone the same!!!! You need to learn how foods affect YOU!!! Keep a food and blood sugar diary so you have concrete data about your interactions with foods. You are worthy of being your best and being healthy. But no one can do it for you! Live your life like you are the most important person in your life. It’s a matter of breaking the vicious circle, you don’t exercise because you feel tired and heavy, and that feeling won’t go away until you exercise and eat better. In many of your videos I’ve heard about the messages you send to your brain. *Well done!* Much appreciated. I have recently have seen evidence that while "fasting", the liver converts excess fat _( from fatty liver )_ to glucose, which raises blood sugar. And I wonder if this is the true reason why blood sugar is elevated when we get up in the morning. The data derive from people who are merely "fasting" for 12 - 18 hours per day. So this would suggest that this is a daily process of expunging excess fat from the liver so that it can continuously heal itself.
@drekberg3 жыл бұрын
Thank you sequi- tur. It certainly shows that fasting is effective for reversing fatty liver, but I don't see the released fat/glycerin be responsible for an extended dawn phenomenon. I think we still want to blame lingering IR for that. 😄

Egg cholesterol is dietary, it is not assimilated by the body, it will not increase or reduce your blood cholesterol levels, since it is produced exclusively by the liver, although if you consume several eggs a day, you make the liver not It produces so much gold, therefore, there may be a reduction in the CL, but it will never increase it, you lose all the essential nutrients when consuming it without the yolk, and all the kitos regarding the egg have been denied.

Eating just protein and fats won’t produce HIGH blood glucose. The body will make glucose to maintain a normal baseline level. Eating protein will increase insulin a little to get amino acids into cells. Eating protein also increases glucagon which keeps blood glucose at normal baseline.
@45graham45 Жыл бұрын
@@Cnick1891 How do you know when something works for you? Unless you have daily blood tests how do you know how your blood sugar, insulin & ketone levels are responding. Any phisical harm caused by insulin resistance can takes decades to present itself so blood tests seem to be vital to know what works.

Unfortunately, the most important blood test, which is for "Insulin level" can't be done at home.
@angelgirldebbiejo3 жыл бұрын
I wish there was a monitor for that like the glucose one
@johnwilliams88183 жыл бұрын
While not the same, I would think that an A1C Meter, would provide valuable insight into the level of insulin that is in circulation "on average"... The A1C test measures the % of red blood cells that have glucose "attached" to a protein (Hemoglobin) located within the Red Blood Cell. In order for that Glucose to enter the red blood cell? It needs to be transported "IN" by insulin. Ideally, you want your A1C to be lower than 5.7 (which I think is still too high) and the test gives an "Average" % over 90-Days. You can use the meter the same as a glucose meter to get a rough idea of your insulin level (or if it spikes after certain foods) by whether or not the A1C % measured increases (meaning more glucose got into the red cells - meaning more insulin was active). Or if it stays the same or decreases (meaning less glucose - less insulin released). It's not an exact science. But useable/useful "Workaround" for those who might like to get a better idea of what they are eating is causing more insulin to be released. A "Glucose" Meter measures the actual "Free" glucose in the blood that hasn't been picked up by Insulin yet...

There is a monitor it is called healthy body fat. Make sure the ratio waist-to-eight (at your belly) is less than 0.5 to avoid any metabolic disease.. ideally you want to keep it between 0.4/0.5. Read my post above to understand why. Insulin is release in large quantity in the desperate attempt to regulate excess energy in the blood stream (store in adipose). If adipose have reached their maximum capacity (personal fat threshold) they become resistant to insulin and excess energy is spitted back into the blood stream. This is the turning point when people start getting sick and what has been named Metabolic syndrome: 1) large waist 2) Elevated blood pressure 3) High triglycerides 4) Low level of HDL and possibly high level of LDL (again this should be measured in context) 5) Elevated fasting glucose The above are all witnessed in patients with an waist-to-eight ration so here is your "insulin monitor"

I really loved the way you explained how incomplete proteins (due to not having enough essential amino acids to combine together in whole units) gets converted into glucose and fuel, while (if the body can use it all) the combinations go to body tissues, while anything above that becomes glucose, fat, directly or otherwise. I’m frustrated I had to be 49 years-old before learning that. Now, given all that, what are viable complete pairing/grouping ratios of various types of foods to get all 9 of the essential amino acids in the most balanced way? That’d be another great video!
