Hope you liked this guide! Hopefully I’m watching this with y’all at the premiere, but if I’m working (on call life, you never know when you’re working), Drew will be around. Let him know what you think of his edit and you’ll see what I think of it in the video. Anyway, really excited to film some new trail guides and make better videos this year! -Dewie Edit: yes, I know I can’t talk, at least I said it right in the trail videos of chihuahua gulch lol

Welcome back! A 95 year-old friend owns a condo in Breck and was a ski instructor for 30 years. He had Bet Midler and family for lessons and got a $500 tip. He was passing fitness tests at 80 years-old that the 20-somethings couldn't pass! Thanks for the adventure!

Thank you for filming this video! I grew up in Breckenridge and I often look online for some nostalgic photos or videos of the area. I moved to California when I was 22 and have been back to Breck about three times since then with my family. A cool story: When I was in my teens, we used to live just off of main street up on Harris street in Breck. I would walk from our house up to Beaver Run and then just hike up to the top of Peak 10. It was usually in July or so as most of the snow was gone. This was in 1991 or so. I would barely take much water or food (which in hindsight is such a teenager thing to do) and I would go up to the very top of Peak 10 (the actual peak above where you guys parked). I'd just sit there and have a snack and take in the view. Often, I would be looking down at Breckenridge on a 75 degree July day down there and some clouds would come over the top of peak 10 and it would start snowing on me as it was 35-40 degrees up there. It was pretty awesome and a memory I will never forget! These videos are great and I appreciate you going up Peak 10. Sorry I'm late to the video, but glad I found it!

We did this September 2022 and there was no rock stacking on the final switchback which made it nerve racking because there's no room to back up and "try again". I think just driving up to the meadow in the middle is a nice drive if you're not interested in puckering.

Awesome guide, will be useful when I'm in the area this August! I drove just past the dining shack last time (to the gate) but didn't go any further as it was my first time on mountain trails. Will try to do the entire trail this year. It doesn't seem like a busy trail (I didn't see any cars) and you didn't seem to meet many. However, once you get higher, how often are there spots where you can pass oncoming traffic? Thanks for the info. Keep up great videos!

@Dusty Wheeler From my own experience I can only in good conscience recommend lunchbox/mechanical lockers off-road, and this video even demonstrates one of the reasons I will be switching to an e-locker now that I have the means. Even in the rear on road lunchbox lockers can be unpredictable in adverse conditions. Especially since most off-road vehicles are also rear wheel drive where as at least on road my front axle completely disconnects in 2wd. Off road they perform well for the cost in comparison and engage when needed without the added complexity of electronics and hoses that also have more components to fail. It's actually a similar reason why Matt's off-road recovery has given for why he has a Detroit locker in the front and a positraction LSD in the rear of the Bannana and Morrvair. Each option Open, elocker, air-locker, mechanical locker, LSD, and spool have different trade offs and benefits from cost, usability, durability and complexity.
