That's really not what happened at all, though. Coolio's managment lied to Al and told him that they got his permission, when they did not, but Al thought that he had the go-ahead. Coolio then later found out about it and believed that it was done without permission and believed that his original song's message was "too important" to be made fun of. Weird Al ALWAYS gets the permission of the artists and even did before this, and later smoothed it over with him after they both became aware the "permission" incident was just a misunderstanding.

The Star Trek version? Or the original? Since we the subscribers have started down this slippery slope also known as the mind***k. Mwahahaha. Seriously though, maybe get used to the original a while in future before you jump straight in with parodies. They are all classics and deserve their time of appreciation. It's not fair to you to spoil the deep connection that you showed to Coolio. As most of us did when we first heard also had. I'm sorry if that happened. We don't mean to steer you wrong. We're just a little excitable sometimes. It's infectious, in a good way. I love watching your first exposure to the music that I have loved my whole life. Subscribing to your channel makes me smile, laugh, and sing every day. During lockdown, you have literally saved lives, I'm certain of it. Alternatively, if you liked the comedy, Al has also done some Michael Jackson parodies, since he is more familiar to you. As always, brilliant reaction. Go with whatever you like, whatever appeals to you or however you choose to decide. There is great music to be found in every genre. Have fun. Enjoy it!

Al doesn't just do parodies-he does a lot of research and pulls video ideas from a lot of sources. The scene where they're doing the barn raising and the frame falls around it is based on a scene in a 1928 Buster Keaton silent film.

Lol this just ruined the original for you. Now you can't ever listen to it without thinking about this version.
