Could you have packed with snow? Looks yum. Sweet young men.
@ArtisanAcre
@ArtisanAcre 5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely but our snow is all but gone and what is on the ground is questionable from dogs and wild life alike so we opted for ice since we were in town anyways we just grabbed a bag. Other wise we may have taken our chances with the snow :)

Hope you don't think I was being critical I just wondered. Understand the dog thing. Lol. I live in Tx so snow is not often any more. We do live in the woods and love it except when there are storms and, the wind is high. We have very large pine close to the house. We just trust the Lord to keep them rooted and standing tall. 40+ years He has done just that. Blessings to you all.

@@joenperkins2138 Oh heavens no, we didn't think you were being critical at all! You asked a very valid question! A week earlier we had feets of snow still even in the warm days and was using it to put ice in our icebox to set our perishables on but we had rain last week and it took care of most of our snow so we had to quit using it :( It was a sad day, no more free ice! I understand about the love of the forest but the fear of the trees in the wind! Blessings!

Question Leah...how would we separate the cream from goats milk?
@JoshuaSmithHomesteader
@JoshuaSmithHomesteader 5 жыл бұрын
with a cream separator, or by letting it sit on counter then scooping the cream that rises to the top. However goats milk has less cream then cows milk so you need lots.
@ArtisanAcre
@ArtisanAcre 5 жыл бұрын
Lisa, Joshua covered it all. The only other thing to remember is like different cow breeds, different goat breeds will have different cream count in their milk. Nubian is one of the highest in cream however you still either need a cream separator or patients lol!

Looks sooooooo good!! How much ice did it eventually take to make the ice cream?
@ArtisanAcre
@ArtisanAcre 5 жыл бұрын
Our batch was small enough (about 1/2 gallon in liquid that we ending not needing to add anymore.

LOL, ok so you made bunny ice cream? LOL....and YES, you NEVER argue with Gracie Allen!!! love her!!! Ice cream was George Washingtons favorite dessert, probably one reason he had bad teeth, but just one....

Did you use whipping cream or regular cream
@ArtisanAcre
@ArtisanAcre 4 жыл бұрын
We use regular cream but I believe that whipping cream in the store is just cream. I think they just use that wording because most folks purchase it to whip into a fluff for desserts. As long as the ingreds on the carton is cream then you are good to go...but not half and half, that would not work.
