If your brake lights or cruise control does not work, most likely you need to replace the brake lights switch. This is a video of how to replace and test the brake lights switch in a Peugeot 307 (2007; face lift; 1.6 petrol version TU5JP4) or a Peugeot Partner 1.6HDi (2007).

@@moremolecules - yes, I took it to an auto transmission place expecting it me to cost thousands of dollars and they confirmed a faulty brake light switch - I could have fixed it myself! Manual shifting of the gears however remained possible.

I had same problem but i just disassembly old switch, clean contacts and it is working like new.

Yeah, this switch had some sort of intermittent problem, sometimes was working and others did not. I decided to replace it just because the rear brake lights are pretty crucial.

@@moremolecules yes, mine was the same, intermittent abs/esp fault and finaly i determine this switch is problem.Clean it year ago and still working ok

It could be a brake light switch or the ABS sensor. If the brake lights work, then most likely something else, but worth checking with a multimeter.

Is the cruise control still working every time you switch it on? Did you get any trouble code for that reason: malfunctioning break switch, low boost...? I think new replacement brake switches come with an additional short cable and an electric component, do you know anything about it? I'm not sure what was the reason behind that connection update.

Yeah, everything works after I replaced the brake lights switch and has been working since I made the video. I did get an error code in the ECU (cannot quite remember what it was), which disappeared afterwards. There were no other problems whatsoever, no low boost, no warning or lights on the dash, nothing, nly the cruise control was not working. My replacement brake switch did not come with anything additional, it was just a little bit shorter, which is adjustable.

@@csraln6748 Hmm, that is a bit weird, but maybe they just do not want the cable to bend too much so that is why they provide the extension. I would have bought this had I seen it. Better to have a bit more cable than for it to be too short and bend at awkward places and snap somewhere.
