I made these today. They turned out amazing. Make sure your milk is warm (120) add the sugar and yeast and sit for 15min. The dough gets easier to work with after you let it sit. Thank you for this recipe!

Made the dough yesterday afternoon, I used a stand mixer to blend in the butter more evenly and then let the dough rise in a covered bowl overnight. This really developed the glutens nicely and made for a dough that was very easy to handle this morning. It also allowed for a really fluffy bloom once in the oil. I like the idea of letting the first side skin-up a little then flipping again to get that golden color. I recommend using caster sugar to coat them, which is plain white sugar ground in a bullet grinder to get a consistency halfway between granulated and 10x. I wish I could share a photo - they came out perfect!

@@nalomsibarani2954 Yes! After posting this I made a batch as per the instructions, with a 1-hour rise. They came out very good but the batch from the overnight rise in the fridge were much, much lighter in texture.

Any time there’s yeast, you usually need warm milk. That being said, it should have stated that.

I’m new to learning to work with dough(s) and Gosh has it been trial and error at times. I keep extra everything on hand now because of having to start over when things get messed up.😄 I made a gorgeous batch of Cinnamon rolls Sunday and realized how much I really love making breads, cakes, donuts etc homemade! @@tg-hr9yg it's not the same as all purpose, it has more gluten in it than all purpose and is more suitable for bread. It ensures a better gluten structure in your bread. Different flours have different gluten amounts in them. Depending on the flour you want to use depends on what your making.

Literally, just ate these, still hot and so pillowy. I rolled half in cinnamon sugar and the other half in powdered sugar. I was skeptical about such a 'wet' dough, but it came together and I will make them again... and likely again lol. Thank you

I made it with all purpose flour and kept the same measurements, it's still good. The dough was very easy to work with. When it was still sticky I watered my hands a little, so it was easier to work with, it stopped being sticky after a while and became smooth. I replaced the instant yeast with regular one (12 g). The milk was roomtemperature, so it took for a while to start working (I don't remember the right word in English), so next time I'm probably putting it in the microwave a little. I didn't use sugar for dipping (I still used it for the dough) so the donut wasn't really sweet. I ate with jam though, so it didn't really needed to be. If you decide to also not use sugar after you took it out of the oil, you can eat it with sourcream and cheese too, or maybe yoghurt. It's pretty soft in the inside and some of the donuts that were a little crispy outside. This was my first donut, so I asked for help with putting them in the oil in the right time (we don't have a device to check the temperature of the oil, so I asked my mom who has experience making donuts to boil the oil and put them into it) but other than that I did the other steps.

@@DiyaAgarwal-h1l Let the oil heat up properly, usually 5 minutes on medium heat (160-180°C). Drop the donuts in and fry for 1 minutes on each side.

I made these and they were great!! I tried other donut recipes but they all came out sour or off, these ones turned out great!! I bloomed my yeast first, my yeast was expired, lol! I let it bloom for 20 minutes. I only used water cause my sister would get mad if I use the milk but I'm like 'Gurl, I paid for these'. I also used All Purpose flour instead of Bread flour. I knead these by hand and I felt like my arms were going to break. My legs were about to snapped and my chest about to collapse. I knead for 20 minutes, I have heart issues, haha. I kept asking myself while kneading 'Is it worth it' -- it is~ I was supposed to cook them yesterday but my sister made dinner and I didn't want so many food at the table so I put the dough in the fridge, they were already shaped -- and they got bigger. I cooked them this morning in a very low heat oil for six minutes then rest on a rack for 5 minutes before I coat them in powdered sugar. These are the best recipe so far~!! SO simple and easy to make. So fluffy as well! I'll make these again but hopefully next time I'll invest on a mixer, cause I really felt myself dying while I was kneading.

I've made it yesterday and they are good , it's not the donuts that we love at Tim Hortons, you know the moore cake caky style we love the most. This recipe is the same has koreans twisted donuts style. It's more like bread... But what I like most it's the caky style donuts recipe , without yeast bread, so so smooth and moist inside and caky and and so chewy, it melted in your mouth ... , so good !

My Japanese great gran mama uses all plant based milks and less sugar. It turns out super good the best plant based milk is from silk called next milk. Never use dairy again its so toxic for us it makes everything not healthier 🎉

Donut glaze is pretty easy to make, a little corn syrup and powdered sugar, add a bit of milk to thin it out, warm it up and dip your donut in.

Never use steel chopsticks, they scratch the cooking pan and damage it. Use wood chopsticks! 😉
