I would highly recommend a Thermacell Backpacker for your Alaska trip. We used one on mine in 2022 and it was a life saver for our camping. It runs on your normal camp fuel canisters and fits in the palm of your hand. It was so great getting to meet both of you at Get On ADV fest in Sturgis!
@KevinKeller-aka-Chef Жыл бұрын
I second the thermacel - took one recently on a 6000k ride through Minnesota, Great Lakes, Indiana and other states chock full of mosquitos and it was magic when running. There are also some hand-held battery powered options.

Chunky Oatmeal! I am planning a trip from WV to Utah next spring with my son. Yes, both of us on motorcycles all the way camping as much as possible. We have made shorter multi day trips to this point but this will be a leap for both of us. The video you put together just makes me all the more anxious for next May!

Love that you two are making these moments and sharing them with the rest of us! I suggest you do an episode on different approaches to dealing with the bugs. I bring a light that doubles as a bug zapper with me. That and repellent wrist bands. They help some. Thanks for inspiring us all Amanda and Gary!

At least Lolo Springs, MT to Kooskia, ID has water in its 108 mile stretch of no gas or other services. Love that stretch and bet you’ve done it a few times. Longest I’ve done without services or water is Rachel, NV to Tonepah, NV - 109 miles - though sometimes the station in Rachel isn’t open, so it’s 154 miles from Ash Springs, NV to Tonopah w/o services. When I was on my Triumph Bonneville T-120 with a 3.5 gallon tank and range of at best 180 miles loaded up, that was a nail biter.
