I was there watching from the hill on the 18th. When entering the course through security it was the most lax security check I've ever been through. Walk through a metal detector and that's it. No one checking bags. No one with wands no pat downs. I genuinely believe if the security was tighter and more thorough this could have been prevented and the smoke bombs would have been found and confiscated. In today's times security checks should be much more secure and focused. It doesn't matter if there's 100 people or 100,000 people. Every person should be checked. Music events and other sporting events I've been to have been like going through a TSA check. Myself and the group I was with yesterday all felt the same way with the lack of security.
