@@m7492613 it potentially changes the density of the smoke graphics. So the smoke would cover the same area, but might be thicker/less detailed on lower settings. So since you can see the enemy through the faded edge of the smoke area, there is a chance on lower visual settings that you can't.

@@lancer227 smokes are server side since spring 2019 otherwise they'd be as random as dead bodies. Demos consist of instructions for the game to repeat and then calculate what would happen, since demos play at 32 tic smokes bounce differently than in MM 64 tic so that's why they land different.
