You are absolutely right cyn doll. I had a hair care specialist explain to me the very things you are explaining here and this was back in the 1990's. She would hire cosmetologists straight out of school and retrain them about hair care. My hair is very fine and very dense, and after going to her a few times, my hair was so healthy it looked like a white woman's hair. If you had seen my hair from the back, you would have thought I was a white woman. She put very very very little product in my hair and told me not to wet it or put anything in it until my next appointment. My hair had never been so healthy and naturally shined. You are 100 percent correct!!!!!!! God bless you!!!

I've been a follower for years rarely comment. I've been natural 12 yrs and also relaxed for 8yrs. Lots of trial & error to finally realize my hair is low density high porosity in either state. Also discovered chelating/clarifying is essential. Regardless of how some may view you i respect that you immersed yourself into the actual chemistry Which many have not. My hair has started flourishing doing less manipulation & product layering. Most of all making sure to thoroughly dry my strands. Even relaxed my braid/twist out last longer no shedding from hydral fatigue. Sorry for the long post. All of this is to say thank you. Love your Holistic journey and content as well. Bless

Every silk press that I see you do in your content blows me away! I used to think that I needed a lot of product for my silk press to look good, and I ended up being fried chicken and blaming the tools! I am only now learning that I was getting it wrong and stunting my growth. Thank you and keep 'em coming😊.

Great info as always. I got a blowout and my hair smelled terrible after she straightened it. I fell asleep in the chair otherwise i would have stopped her earlier.... she told me she doesn't use leave in conditioner because it makes the hair harder the straighten...I was shocked at her answer... My Hair smelled like a super burnt chicken dinner , she straightened my hair on the highest heat setting with no protection Going to the italian lady next...i am done

I can't understand why anyone would walk around with wet/damp hair for more than 12 hours and think that is normal...... My elders used to tell us we would catch our death if we went around with wet/damp hair and we lived in a black-majority tropical country in the Caribbean. Even now my mom gets scared if I wash my hair at night. If someone lives where the temperature is freezing zero and below why would you even contemplate a wet wash and go outside......I dunno maybe I'm just weird and different but not once have I had to big chop or shave my head as a natural of 12 years. I use a blowdryer and a flat iron on my hear 3-5 times a year usually for a trim...straight or curly. Straight my stylist uses a round brush method. Curly he uses the diffuser.

How were the people of the old drying their hair before the invention of blow-dryers?
@marleyhill34
@marleyhill34 7 ай бұрын
@@faithagamah8598 cotton and sitting next to the fire until your hair was dry. 🙈 In the tropics my hair dries in 15 minutes. If you wrap your hair in a microfibre towel for 20-40 minutes, it will remove most of the moisture. It's the soaking wet hair with products applies to the wash and go that is not a good idea to do every single day. Or putting your wet hair in a bun. I watched a family in Siberia do their weekly bath and hair washing and the mum put het hair in a towel to absorb as much water as possible for a long time and then she was indoors with their fire.
