I like multiple sources of income as well everyone looks at me crazy all over the place but I learned the hard way when I was younger and being stuck at one place when people start talking crazy or management changes and wanna shake the table…. Multiple sources of income ie several jobs on the docket yeah it’s a W.

LTC is the best, I love being a CNA in LTC because the overtime is unlimited. Assisted Living ain't too bad.

It has options but it sure depends on where you work. I'm excited to go into the acute setting. The ER was less busy than my floor.

I watch you off and on, I did the steps as well CNA, CMA, LPN, RN. I have worked LTC, Rehab, Public Health, Outpatient and Hosp. When I saw you were going to the hospital I was like LTC just a "smaller scale" yet the same thing different place. I personally have been doing Triage Nursing in the clinic float between contracts and perdiem. It is 8 to 4 a nice break from all that running around still gets me my hours and my breaks. I also work outpatient GI between contracts PRN and it pays well. I tell all my friends that hyping the hospital when you get your RN is to help with the shortage dont believe the hype.

I remember I worked one shift at a facility they had desk fans in the residents room. If you think that was bad they had crank beds. Do you believe that they only got one shift out of me

One facility I go to to see my patients still has crank beds. I feel bad for the staff. No facility should have crank beds in 2023. Nor should they smell!

Have you or are you interested in Home Health per diem or HH Admission Nurse- those positions (where I live) start at $90/hour. I’m per diem outpatient surgery center as pre-op and endo nurse, per diem clinical instructor for nursing students and have my businesses-Sisterlocs, esthetician, and body contouring….it’s always evaluating and re-evaluating. Good luck!

My fave Nurse. Sending well wishes from the sunshine state of Florida. I have been watching your journey for several years now. I have been a LPN since 2007. I went back to school in 2021 to get my AA in Arts, where I graduated last December magna cumlade. 2 weeks after graduation I went straight into the ADN program where I have consistently made it through each semester. I have two weeks off before I complete my 16 weeks of integration. This is my very first time writing on your page although I frequent your KZbin channel. You have been an inspiration.

Are those permanent rates or casual loading?
@yourfavnurseb9699
@yourfavnurseb9699 11 ай бұрын
PRN rates based on how often you work.
@diehard200
@diehard200 11 ай бұрын
Sounds completely different to the way it works here in Australia. Here you either get casual loading or permanent rates. For example I earn $58 AUD a night Mon-Fri as a permanent RNIC in a LTF or RACF (residential aged care facility) as it's known here. If I were casual I could get around $70 an hour but my shifts would not be permanent shifts. The rate increases with weekends and public holiday etc. So on Saturday my RNIC rate is $71 and on Sundays $86. With overtime I can get $96 an hour. Overtime here starts after 70 hours of work in a fortnight. This is all Aussie dollars. Sounds like US nurses get paid much more than Aussie nurses.
@diehard200
@diehard200 11 ай бұрын
In hospital your standard RN does not get that RN in charge rate. So they only get their base rate. For year 1 level 1 RN that's like $36 mornings to $43 on nights. Aged care nurses get paid more than hospital acute nurses over here. Which hasn't always been the case.

Hey Nurse B it’s been a long time congrats on getting that RN , I finally made it into RN school🤍 But I think you should try out corrections you would love it especially if you can get it through agency once your in you’ll never want to leave it’s the most easiest but impactful job you’ll ever do it’s not scary how people make it seem give it a shot if you do let me know how you like it
