Super cool idea using the pitch shifter to shift the harmonics of a whole track! Though, using the MIDI is also going to differ from the pitch shifter. With the shifter the partial's relationships are going to change differently, so they'll no longer be "in tune". Using midi the root changes, but the harmonic series will stay the same. For example, A saw wave's second harmonic will be 2x the root (b = 2a) when you use the pitch shifter, it evenly moves down everything by equal value, so the second shifter harmonic is no longer related to the first. If you play a saw wave at 420hz, it's second harmonic is at 840. With freq shifter the second harmonic is 740. With midi, the harmonic will be at 640 (640 = 2*(420 - 100)).

Thanks, I'd never considered the difference between frequency shifting and pitch shifting.

wow - this is clever ... need to think about what this is doing to the harmonics/partials... certainly an edgy and discordant sound right away.

@@hrrld could be neat to do the inverse freq shift after, using something that isn’t a pure sine, which would then make the fundamentals correct but the harmonics all wrong

Please be specific. What do you want them to add?

@@pbrninja19 he just said if they can add scales to the piano roll..just like studio one

@@AGZT94 You're ignoring my request to be specific. When you say "add scales", what do you want to see in the program? You click some button and some box opens with a bunch of scales for you to select? How many scales are in there? How many scales are possible in theory?
@AGZT942 ай бұрын
@ idk if you’re a musician but it’s self explanatory..adding scales obviously means adding the basic scale tones that every other program gets…now if you want extra features with that it’s different…there’s no need to be more specific because he just wants scales
