This will be a great unit for anyone who camps in the cold temperatures. Having the self heat is unique as is the 20 amp DC output XT60. With the 20 amp 12 volt outlet you can power a diesel heater which most power banks will not.

You have me seriously interested in Pecron, I have Oupes, Big Blue and Jackery now, however I like the quality of Pecron and the new E3600LFP with extension batteries. hey ReeWray Everyday - maybe it’s my iPad speakers, but the guitar amp hum was noticeably louder and more importantly, a higher pitch than it was with AC power. Thanks for doing this test, which I haven’t seen on other review videos.
@ReeWrayOutdoors2 күн бұрын
Yeah, it was definitely noticeable...but I can say that, compared to a lot of other units I've tested with the same setup, it wasn't THAT much more noise. Still, for some people primarily using it for remote powering a PA, or amp, it could be more noise than they are comfortable with. Wouldn't bother me much...but then, I'm mostly a drummer so.... ;--) haha

@ReeWrayOutdoors2 күн бұрын
Thanks! And yeah, "best choice" is a constantly moving target. I just try to present the best options currently available and point out their short-comings where I find them. I actually abandon numerous review projects because the product is just not something I'd feel comfortable recommending - so those never see the light of day. There's a lot of junk out there, and these things are too expensive to take risks on no-name, rebranded units that may not be in business next year!

It seems like they purpose built this one for camping & other cold weather outdoor activities. Enough energy storage to run a c-pap overnight with some left over in the morning to make coffee, enough output to run a diesel heater in a cabin, etc. would have been nice to have, at least, a time lapse of it going through the heat & charge process. Anyway, headed over to ReeWray Everyday now.

Why would the DC port be less efficient vs the AC test? ReeWray Everyday!!
@ReeWrayOutdoors2 күн бұрын
Excellent question! :) The results are counter-intuitive, but there are a couple of reasons for that: 1) the system voltage is 48V so it has to step-down to produce 12V, and there is some loss in that. 2) the DC test, since my tester can only pull around 120W, has to run for like 9 hours straight to deplete the battery, so those step-down losses tend to add-up the longer the test runs - compared to the AC inverter test which only runs for
