These things do not save money for the home owner over the long haul . They do use les gas ,but when they break all the money you saved on gas is lost ten fold .

Should take a CO test around the heat exchanger and the exhaust black ring if it’s oily means COis leaking into the cabinet which is known to happen right out of the factory Very important!

Big time POS , A regular water heater just works for 20 + years with no trouble. That’s worth something .

I usually have to replace my water heater every 8-9 years. Is this unusual? We do have very hard water.

@SoulforSale water heaters last a lot longer where i live,i replaced my 32 year old water heater cause i got one for free that had only been installed for 2 years,stay on top of the anode rod and do flushes,that may help get more out of them
