VR is just insane. It's something you can't show people watching on a 2d screen. I've had my oculus for around 5 months now and its changed the way I look at gaming. When I first got my oculus I had my brother come over to check it out, he was so blown away by the realism and immersion of Lone Echo that he went out and bought a Oculus himself. I can't wait to see where VR is at in 10 years.
@ashcosmo38545 жыл бұрын
I feel the opposite. Had my Oculus For 1 month before selling it. The fidelity is absolutely hideous. Anything above 100m in front of you is a pixelated mess. Targets, track corners, character models you name it. VR tech has a long way to go before it visually is adequate.

@@ashcosmo3854 all depends on the game and of course your PC. I'm able to surpersample 2× so games like lone echo, dead and buried, beat saber and many others look very crisp. I finally got the game for PC and tried it on my Rift S, and wow, not only has it improved immensely since 2018, but the VR update is a total conversion, it feels like a full VR game. To give some perspectie on how awesome this is, take Subnautica's free VR update for example, which is barebones and doesn't really convert the game very well, you're still using a standard controller and still dealing with the same 2D menus in the same way, but you're using a headset and can look around and such, that's passable for a free update of course, but NMS's update legitimately converts it into a VR game, with full interactions, motion controls, etc, no expanse spared. Then there's Bethesda and their Skyrim/Fallout VR ports, which are much lazier than the VR update on NMS WHILE COSTING FULL PRICE EVEN IF YOU ALREADY OWN THE GAME! Hello Games is awesome.

I hope they give the characters arms. A lot of VR games don't unfortunately but it would be a nice touch to finally have them

Overlorb Thing is since only your hands are being tracked your body prob wouldn't be oriented correctly which is extremely immersion breaking. Its not impossible to do but it requires really elaborate code to accurately track a torso with only hand tracking which would prob have a host of problems if the game wasn't designed from the ground up for vr

Sean Murry is the Jordan Peterson of the gaming industry. He inspires me to become a game developer myself. Thank you very much, for not giving up on us, and most importantly on yourself, and doing everything you can to deliver your vision. You're a f♥cking legend, mate.

I would also like to say Vr has really come a long way, it's still developing as a medium bust it's cool to see new experimental genres emerging and evolving in real time like I havent seen since the 8bit-32bit eras.

WOW the game has really turned around in a big way the VR is an interesting new aspect and the fact you can play your saved game and play with people who are not in VR is really cool. I can't wait to see where else they take this game.

Unlike Bethesda, they listened to the people. And now, it's probably my favorite game.

One thing I did notice is that he teleported to the ship. I hope they implement locomotion. That is a must have for any open world game. I've never played no man's sky but this will definitely get me buying it

There's something just awesome about being able to walk a landscape, jump into a spaceship and fly off into space - we've been waiting for a game that manages all 3 into a seamless experience - this might just be it. Great short review by the narrator. Insta buy for me.
