you did this series 2 years ago, and I'll bet there's a lot of people out there who wish they followed your advice today! imagine yellow squash going from 19 cents a pound to $1.19 a pound in one year. I didn't think I had the time for a garden, but now, I believe I can find the time! this is a fantastic series for someone starting a victory garden. thank you for your help.

You are so welcome! Setting it up takes the most amount of time. Maintenance can be low or high… depends on plant choice. But, yes, the return on investment that my garden has yielded has been amazing. I’ve grown over 1000 pounds in that garden (all since I filmed the series). And saved thousands of dollars. I wish you the best in your gardening adventure!

Some book libraries also have a small seed library. All they ask is if you can bring seeds back at the end of the season.

Other sources of getting seeds for your garden would be in your kitchen spice cabinet. Seeds like coriander, fennel, dill, red pepper are some you can use to turn into plants. Great tips!

Not free, but lots of organic food from grocery store can be used to start garden. Celery stalk end can be rooted and then planted. Organic potatoes. Organic died peas(they are pea seeds)!

My neighbor comes over and borrows stuff and fixes them and shines them up before returning them. Lucky me.

Don't tell anyone but I dig up that nice composted forest layer on vacant lots and replace it with the garbage fill sand from mine.

When you get grass clippings, chip & drop, palm, etc do you have any concerns about whether those items have been treated wit non organic fertilizers and pesticides?
