Great tires, came nicely packed in the box, and did not compress kzbin.infoUgkx985f3iNjxHFMO6JoE7CSGActiIEyumFx . It fitted my craftsman riding mower just fine. It is a little narrower than my stock tires but so far it has held up and works great. No air leaks and traction was great in my hilly backyard. Installation was good and was not too difficult, highly recommended.

My brother tried this on a flat lawn tractor tire. It was a spectacular failure. He probably put too much in? The sidewall blew out on the tire. It hit the 16' tall ceiling of his pole barn. He was leaning over it when the sidewall blew. He says it took 1 gallon of mineral spirits to get the foam off of his face/hair/head! Being a good brother, I had to ask him "Can you do it again? I'll make a video, we'll get rich!" He declined...LOL

In all my years of working with this stuff in props and decorations I have found a few things out the hard way. Like a haircut is cheaper, safer and easier than more chemicals. The best one I learned however is that it isn't air that makes the foam cure, it's the moisture in the air. I always have a spray bottle on hand so it cures quicker. You also don't have as much worry about it just staying an uncured mess in the middle of cured foam. As far as the tire keeping it's shape, I'd suggest a screw and clip into the bead to hold it to the rim properly. Lessens the chances of bulged or deformed sidewalls.

I tried this procedure on both of my rear 20x8 lawn tractor tires. It was a disaster and i ended up ruining both rims and tires.Here in the South its much too hot for this to work in the summer. The foam gets completely out of shape and you get extreme flat spots due to the heat. I used more then a case of "Great Stuff" foam attempting to fill all of the voids. But It did not get the tires back to the proper original size and shapes. It was aweful on the spine and the cut of the blades. I may have done something wrong. But no matter how close to the recommended procedure I stayed, the tires didnt maintain their shape. I can't recommend this at all in high heat areas. ZZ.

You got to make two evenly spaced holes the same size as the straw and some little tiny holes all over the tire and plug the two fill holes when it's full so then foam can't escape but still draw enough air through the tiny holes for the foam to expand, be sure to start spinning the tire or rollin it around for a minute or two to even out the foam from having flat uneven spots then lay the tire horizontal to cure still occasionally spinning every couple minutes . Trial and error is how I learned how to do it this way

@biber6385 жыл бұрын
After greatstuff expans and dries it is honeycombed with air pockets and brittle. Greatstuff starts expanding right when it is released. If you released one ounce it will expand greatly. Triple expansion greatstuff has more air pockets. That one ounce after cured and dried can and will crumble to powder just by squeezing it. If not used correctly it can push out walls and window trim! But if you fill a container up that capable of withstanding the expansion force and quickly cap it off it will stay mostly uncured. It will and can only work temporarily it will crumble inside a tire as soon as its starts rolling. It will not bounce back! It will stay imprinted it will compress and crumble immediately..most riding mowers have tubless tire and only about 10 lbs of air, thats not really enough air to keep the beeds sealed. They will always leak . only thing to do is put tubes in..

To Pauliebots, Yeah I guess, maybe it would last awhile. Someone let us know if it's a rousing success or doesn't live up, or is a dismal failure. Thanks, paulibots! seems like air pressure would still have to hold the integrity of the tire (bead etc.) Otherwise I'm thinking fill it with foam and drain all the air pressure out of it and the foam couldn't possibly hold a perfect round shape. Like you said paulie, any crushing would turn it into a mis-shapen mass, sith lumpy spots that wouldn't roll. (I think)

Make sure the foam has a place to go when it is pushing out the air. Some like to put chunks of Styrofoam in the tire perhaps to save on foam. Should of just cut out the valve stem. But pretty good idea for wheel barrel tires or really any tire basically or the exceptions anyways.

This will never work! Don't waste your money and time! As soon as you roll over a curb or anything that will push the tire in the foam will not return to it's shape.

Excellent way to "renew" a tyre. The foam here in Australia costs a lot less than a tyre/wheel.

Well I noticed few wrong things. You don't have to make new holes It the tire has patches . And to make the foam goes inside no need to rotate the tire just stick the nozzle all the way in on both sides and fill-up . Also put a patch to seal the tire and get more pressure the foam doesn't go out.

I used 5 cans ($2.99 a can at Walmart) to see if this would work. Harbor Freight had a wheel that was solid for almost what I paid to fix this cart wheel. I did notice that if you use one can at a time and leave the wheel in the sun, the heat helps speed it up. I does work, and it does get hard.

We bought solid rubber tires for our wheel barrows. $39 each.
@crabtrap5 жыл бұрын
for the same price you could have pumped slime tubless in there and been done.

crabtrap He could have pumped a half can of fix-a-flat in his wheel barrow tire,oh well . 😧😮

It's not a wheel barrow, it's a zero turn mower tire and it's around 100 $

Looks like this might work on my 1969 mower tire. It's a semi-pneumatic dry rotted and cracked.

Got nothing to lose but 5.00 can foam.

It dry rotted last millenium

I would almost use the low expansion stuff so that stuff probably blow up 10 times bigger than what it is

Cheaper to buy a new tire with rim and have it rubber filled at a Commercial Tire dealer. They can even make it soft or hard depending on your use. The tire will wear out eventually, but you’ll never get a flat.

Wouldn't it be easier just to buy a replacement wheel/tire brand new from Harbor Freight?
@rfb91a5 жыл бұрын
Nice idea, but the HF tubes are crap. The cart that I bought had 1 tire not holding air right out of the box, and any of the several replacement tubes lasted less than a year before the same issue. The $15 puncture sealing tubes from Lowes, not much better, not worth the extra money.
@fredbentley49445 жыл бұрын
I have gotten several 10" tires with tubes from HF to build a cart with Every one has gone flat in a very short time. But I don't think this type of foam is the solution!!
@TheRoadhammer3795 жыл бұрын
it's a zero turn mower tire

this works great, it last for ever I like it so much I put it in all 4 tires on my rider mower to prevent flats.

You always hold the can upside down! Get it?
@timberslut Жыл бұрын
OH! OK, James! You try it and let us know. Well... Did it work? Me? If my Gillette Foamy doesn't fill the tire properly, I'll take my razor-sharp Tantalum-coated Molybdenum-steel axe, and chop holes in the tire allover the place!

You can buy pneumatic tires with steel hubs at Harbor Freight from 5 to 10 bucks each depending on the size why would you waste your time and money on Tuff Junk?
