No more homeschool? | Our decision about homeschooling.

We have been homeschooling now for three years. We were a part of a homeschool hybrid where we would homeschool two days a week. The other three days, the kids would do in-person learning. Good luck! I hope your other two get in to this new school. I wish your district didn’t call it ‘homeschool’. Homeschooling is literally zero ties to your district, doing your own thing, following your own curriculum choices/design, meeting your kids where they are, forging a path of something different than school - it’s really more of a lifestyle! Getting out into the world a lot, infusing learning through activities, outings, groups, hands on learning, etc.

Not really, in some cases you can homeschool in conjunction with the school

The outdoor school sounds wonderful. I hope two spots open for your other 2. My son graduated from an Aviation High School. All the classes had something to do with aerospace and it was located next to the Boeing Museum of Flight so they had planes at their disposal. It was an amazing experience for him.

You are a great Mom to acknowledge that not all children have the same needs and listening to your kids and changing it up. The new school sounds amazing! I wish we had something like that in KY.

Hey so u described what the program works be like in middle school but how about elementary for your younger child?

My boys don’t go to school now they finished but when they went to school it was 5 days week we have 2 systems public government school and private mine went to a small private they had everything there for the sport excursion camps extra help and stuff for gifted students it was a coved school I wouldn’t do home school my youngest had to do it in lockdown and he hated it he loves structure no insentive to learn and missed his friends
