I don't own a tractor, but I first saw a Kubota in 1963 and if I ever needed one, Kubota would be the one. That same year I saw a Honda convertible that got 63 miles per gallon of gas. Because I was so impressed that's why I remembered this. John Deere would be choice number 2 with all you described. Bless you and yours and I know you'll figure this out. I went with the Kioti rx7320 (73HP cab ~$45k) after investigating tractors for over a year. I do make sure to use a pole saw for tree limbs before I take it down any new wooded areas but full coverage insurance is $50/mo. The hydraulics are 2x stronger than the competitor (Kubota or JD). Same flow as a standard skid steer 19.6 gallon per min. Its even better than I anticipated, super strong tractor and that AC is nice when its 100 degrees. Cat 2 hitch and built super HEAVY duty. Got with 3 rear remotes and a 3rd function built into the controls. Near Antlers OK if you want to test drive. It will only cost you an AFH hat lol jk

The DEF systems are not designed for tractors so keep it under 75 horsepower. They will have a DPF filter but over 75 has to add DEF system with many problems.

So, consider whether a utility tractor may be what you want over a compact as 55 HP is at that changing point. My dad always used Massey. He didn't have a cab, but when I was in highschool he built one since he could cut and weld. It basically look like a tall roll cage and he used the hood off an old Ford truck for the top. It was open on the sides, so no AC or heat, but it made a huge difference and was like a dream to him. I still have it today. It's a shelter in my chicken/duck run with an old wooden skid under it and scrap tin on the sides. My ducks love it in the winter.

I like kubota's svl 75 track machine but Im impressed with the JCB telehandler skids with side entrance door machines being safer. But my top pick are the stand on mini skids for safety in tight spaces. I don't think you're gonna need anything for tight spaces on a big farm. If you do end up getting a skid steer, get the high flow option. God bless you and your decision with the right machine.

He was mowing around a brush pile he was intending to burn later and got a nest of yellow jackets disturbed. He tried to get the tractor back to the house but ended up abandoning it. On the hydrostatic Deere it's moving your foot like in a car from gas to brake. May sound trite but that would eliminate Kubota for me, no mater what else I went with. For sure a hydrostatic, though.

I love my Kubota M7060 with Ultra Grand Cab, 2/4 WD, 12’ batwing mower, 82” tiller and front end loader. Our claw grapple and pallet forks are due in three weeks. The tractor is 71hp and it’s plenty of power. The cab is definitely necessary.

i am partial to Yanmar, but WranglerStar seems to be happy with his. Ask Outdoor With the Morgans... they have had a few different tractors.

You will scratch the cab with trees and keep the mirrors folded in but you won’t break the glass.

I’ve never ran one but I’ve noticed that a lot of you tubers are getting TYM tractors. They look nice but I haven’t heard anything about reliability yet.

The first thing you should do is talk to you wife. Draw up a plan on what you both want & need. Maybe with Kubota you can work out a deal. Been reading peoples comments. Check out the Kioti & TYM seems to be mentioned a bit.

I think they should give you a deal on a good used tractor !
