i hate how they announced this suddenly and effective immediately...

If anything the last few years has taught us is that Americans are becoming waaay too smart. We need to lower the demand on information processing and critical thinking and applied knowledge. Maybe they'll replace the "essay" with a "tweet".
@shaepae3 жыл бұрын
Lmao... a whole tweet may be too complex as well... perhaps just a hashtag would be sufficient...

You do know standardized testing on the whole is a bad way to measure the competence of anyone. Judging you by your school career as a whole is a much more effective strategy.

I’m going to apply this year as an international student. I got my green card about 6 months ago so I’m already living in the US but I finished my High School in Brazil. I heard many times that as an international student it was important to take some SAT Subject tests but now I mean, I don’t have that option anymore right !? Do you think it is still gonna have a great impact for international students to take SAT Subject tests? We don’t have AP tests in Brazil
@PrepwithJen3 жыл бұрын
If you're already living in the US, then you may not have the option to take subject tests. It's OK, this is a nationwide change, so you're not alone. Take a look at the policy for each college on your list. If for some reason a school wants subject test scores for international students, you can explain your situation. This change is massive and sudden, and we're all in shock. Hang in there!

If by summer 2022 sat subject tests are going to get scrapped for international students as well, will our subject test scores from the past still have some weight in our college apps?
@PrepwithJen3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the school. Check the colleges on your list to see how they're treating subject test scores.

How is it by summer 2022?? Isn't the last subject test to be conducted for international students in june? May and june 2021 tests are the last, so far i know. Please tell if it's till 2022

I mean not really..It would be wayy better to go with AP
@PrepwithJen3 жыл бұрын
In general, if you're already taking an AP in that subject, I wouldn't take the subject test. To be extra safe, check each college on your list to see how they're handling subject test scores

People are saying they are gonna take AP tests instead of SAT Subjects, but I don’t think international students can take AP tests.
@chulo66833 жыл бұрын
@@rebecataques4596 they can. I am an international student and many people take Aps in my school. It's just that the amount of countries that offer AP are limited

@@chulo6683 so in order to take AP You do have to take AP classes during your high school right? I mean in Brazil AP classes don’t exist hahaha

My school offeres AP classes, but I plan on moving to another school that offers dual enrollment classes, and not AP classes. With current conditions, do you think that is a wise decision?
@PrepwithJen3 жыл бұрын
The most important thing is to show colleges that you're challenging yourself in the context of your school. If your school only offers dual enrollment classes, then taking those shows initiative.

I’m a student in India applying for class of 2026, I’m taking the Subject tests in March since AP exams aren’t accessible easily here. Will my subject test score be factored in my application process? What should I do?

I'm from Brazil and I'm going to apply this year. Since December I've been studying for the SAT without the essay and have been a little hard to study. I also don't understand these subjects tests, it's a little confusing for me :( It's an obligation to do these subject test as an international student?

Currently (January 2021), there are no changes to the regular SAT. Depending on the schools you're applying to, you may still have to take it.
