Addressing some comments. The lack of a catch-can is not a design flaw or mechanical deficiency from Jeep. The vast majority of Jeep owners are not operating their vehicle the same way as Lite Brite, so this is a textbook upgrade. Upgrades in the same way people do with Toyotas, Fords, Chevys, etc.

These keep coming up in my recommended list the last few days so I keep clicking but I'm glad they have cause you guys are great to watch. I am on my 4th jeep so i have watched probably thousands of these over the years but I think yours are the first ones I have actually watched all the way through and listened instead of just getting to the part I need to hear. Brittany you are one of the most captivating, stunning, gorgeous, attractive, beautiful adorable girls I have seen in a long time next to mine of course :) Every guy and his brothers uncles cousins dad has a KZbin video out there on how to do mods but your the one making this channel stand out different because not only are you hot but you can talk the talk when it comes to the tech too and make it funny. Thats awesome. Keep up the good work and keep making videos. my family is from Pueblo so maybe I will see you guys on the trail one of these days.

Great product. I found it much easier to take the can off of the mount from the top and then attach just the mount itself to the manifold. I then attached the can to the top of the mount, per the instructions. Of course, I didn't figure that out until fighting with trying to get the screw into the bottom of the mount through the manifold as you guys did. I do realize I now have to surrender my man card for reading the instructions.

First, I enjoy following your adventures with your JLU and seeing some of your modifications and your commentaries. I recently installed a UPR catch can in my 2018 JLU after reading many reviews on catch cans. I also watched your video several times before installing mine. I have a couple of suggestions for others wanting to install one of these on their 3.6l JL. (1) To install the mount to engine, I placed the allen screw on to the allen wrench and then tightened the mount. No issue of dropping screw. (2) The removal of the existing PCV tubing should be done with care, ensuring that all the clips on passenger side are unclipped. Wiggling the hose out will ensure that nothing else get ripped out because there are a couple of hoses tucked in that same area. (3) The placement of the clean hose takes a little work. Keep up the reviews and videos.

So instead in burning oil out of the smoke you're going to catch the oil and hold it in a container and it's chicken 3000 miles I like the fact that the oil is burned out and gone but the downside is it smokes as it does it correct? Also where did you buy this and what does it retail for ?

I just smoked my 17 JK this last weekend on a gnarly incline, a man made MOAB Hot Tub just to paint you a picture. I was yelled at to turn off my engine and my dumbass put it in park and e-brake before turning it off (out of habit) 🤦🏽‍♂️ Needless to say I couldn’t turn the Jeep back on nor put the transmission or transfer case into neutral to roll back and I was about to tip on my side and flip backwards 😰 I’m avoiding “Hot Tubs” at all costs now, also my JK hasn’t been idling right since, something about a 6 cylinder miss fire 🙄

If Jeep vented the valve cover through the middle of the valve cover instead of the rear end, intake oil probably wouldn't even be an issue. It seems like a weird place to vent from but there must be a logical reason for it.
@bsmukler
@bsmukler 5 жыл бұрын
I doubt there is a clear answer to this, but I wonder if oil starvation is an issue when the Jeep is at an extreme angle for a protracted period of time. (If so, that my also explain the knocking you heard.) I know there are baffled oil pans and baffle inserts for OEM pans, mostly for drag racing. I imagine the Jeep engineers have tested for vertical starvation, but would probably not comment on it (due to engine life and warranty concerns). One thing you might consider, where possible, is to roll back closer to horizontal while you figure out how to clear the obstacle. I realize that is not always an option. I would also consider installing one of the non-vented batteries.
