I’m turning 50 in October. No pains no issues with recovery. Doing CrossFit and hit the gym for 10 to 14 hours a week. Eat lots of eggs and grass fed beef. Sometimes I feel I need some days off to recover so I listen to my body. My fat is around 12% year round. All natural, never used anything but creatine and a pre-workout on some days.

Have you ever thought about why you don't feel like it? Men need to create and fix stuff, you said so yourself, and challenged. So, what's it gonna be? You gonna get at it and fix that? Or take the easy way? That's cool too, but I think you need what I said above...

You are one of the most genetically gifted individuals I've seen Elliot. You don't need to mess with what you body is already doing naturally in an excellent and exceptional manner. Most people cannot come off of T without feeling awful and crashing T levels. If you want to optimize your T-levels as you age, better to try natural stuff like Shilajit or Ashwaganda.

For the joints, try the lubrication recipe of Vonderplanitz (it worked amazingly for me): two or three raw egg yolks, raw butter, unheated honey and lemon juice. Shake it and drink it everyday.

higher test = higher estrogen, low estrogen will hurt joints.

It is called ageing buddy. I am 58, former national level rower, competitive for 15 years and lifting all of my life. Any type of heavy duty training especially from youth will wear you out and reduce your capacity later in life unless you are a special physical specimen (and there are a few in every sport). I am lucky that hypertrophy is easy for me without any TRT. I have been intermittent fasting for 5 years, doing keto and going carnivore and it really helps with muscle growth, lower inflammation response and faster healing. I have gone from workouts 4-5 times a week to 2 to be able to recover, especially the joint tissues. It sucks not to have the same cardiac capacity and power like before but you can still be shredded and strong. I find that as you get older, functional movement exercises, flexibility, balance, agility and connective tissue/joints preservation becomes the dominant interest.

35 never taken any steroids and feel fine I'm 6'3 270 and stronger than majority of the guys on roids and trt at my gym. There are a few exceptions though. I don't knock those guys if they need it. I've thought about it but I'm afraid of side effects on your cardio vascular health.

thanx for the info and honesty dude. i'm 53 and staying leaner and a little less strong with better mobility and stamina seems to be what works for me. back to fasting 18 - 20 hours a day as this facilitates overall leaness... joint pain however seems to be a constant and I've heard and read lower estrogen levels can contribute to this.

Elliot I really appreciate that you don't really click bait. Because of that I liked the video alone. Then I appreciate how straightforward this video is. 💯

I am on it but needed it badly. For around 12 years I had issues building muscle and several other issues including losing weight. Many said it was my diet, not enough exercise and etc. it actually was the opposite, no one would test my T levels, turns out I was so low, listed as medically necessary. I ate clean the whole time, and rode my bike every day around 20 to 25 miles, did big bike rides like 60 to 80 miles, worked out, but was still heavy.

Hey Elliott, my dad's in his late sixties and he's in really good shape for his age. He lifts weights a couple times a weeks, and does other more moderate types of training throughout the week. He can do over 12 pull ups in a set I believe and I'm pretty sure he can bench press a little over 200lbs right now, or at least right around 200lb. He was never super into lifting weights and it's not his main fitness goal, but he's done some type of physical and/or athletic training his whole life through. Not too long ago he was benching 215lb, anyway, so I think he can still lift a similar number in the bench press. I work out with him pretty often, so I can vouch for his current level of fitness. He also has visible abs, and actually appears to have been gaining more muscle recently. In reality, he only recently started to lift weights again, as in, the past couple of years, and didn't do much weightlifting at all before that for many years; in fact, he was never super into weightlifting, like I said. He relied more on calisthenics for his strength training, and has pretty good cardiovascular health and endurance overall as well, even now, especially for his age. In his youth, from what I understand, he was significantly bulkier, in terms of muscle mass, but I think it was primarily from extensive calisthenic training. Figured I'd share some details about his fitness status with you, since you said in the video that you were interested in the experiences of middle-aged and older guys keeping up with their athletic training. For the record, my dad's not on TRT either, and for the time being I don't think he plans on using it any time soon. Cheers. Thanks for all the content Elliott, it's good stuff.
