This has got me intrigued. This seems like a great alternative to some lunchbox tube amps. I'd be really interested to see what you think of the Revv D20 if you can get your hands on it, and how it compares to this.
@tappistrt5 жыл бұрын
Apples and oranges, but I'd personally get this in a heartbeat over the D20. You'd have to add a LOT of pedals to the D20 to get sounds like this that are ready to go out of the box with the Amp1 IE.
@johnbraucher14995 жыл бұрын
This amp is 100 to 180 watts. Completely different league. Lol
@otni61155 жыл бұрын
@@johnbraucher1499 I thought it was 50 to 100 watts? I would have thought that use cases would be rather similar, they're both small form factor amps that you can easily lug around on tours and both pretty much plug straight into an audio interface for recording.
@otni61155 жыл бұрын
@@tappistrt But the D20 seems to take pedals extremely well If you ever want to use them. I don't know if the same can be said for this. From what it seems just adding a revv g3 or g4 before the revv d20 makes it pack one hell of a punch.
@tappistrt5 жыл бұрын
Sam Mi That’s why I said the comparison is apples and oranges. If you want a distortion pedal platform, get the D20. If you want an amp that’s already great out of the box with metal-voiced distortion, get this. IMO the sounds on this are light years ahead of a G3 and a G4 on a clean amp. Also, like someone else said, this is 100+ watts that has headroom up to 180 watts. They are fundamentally different beasts altogether.

As a general rule of thumb, tubes or nano tubes in pedals do not offer much in the way of enhancing tube feel as they aren't run at a high enough plate voltage (usually 9v). It's a gimmick.

@@WholeLottaBulldog What actually gives an amp that "glassy tone". Plugins never capture it, at least in the few I have tried. I am missing that natural glassy clean and gain tone. Even though I am just a casual hobby player, I feel I want to go back to a tube stomp or lunch box head to get that sweet tone and response.
