From the moment the Netflix series aired, and you were able to watch H and M videoing themselves from January 2020, if there’d ever been any doubt, that this move out of RF and specifically to California ( not a cat in hell’s likelihood of charity and humanitarian work in Africa) was for personal issues would have been dispelled. The fact that this documentary would have aired with all the same content had the late Queen lived until January 23…was beyond atrocious…..and that dying swan of a curtsy would have told her late majesty everything she would ever need to know about the regard in which Meghan Markle held both the Queen personally and the office of a head of state. Telling your families secrets, inventing scenarios and worst of all outright lying about an issue so sensitive as race imv was too much for virtually every person who has a family of their own, and irrespective of race, religion, skin colour or culture. But perhaps most damning of all was their timing; when Prince Phillips life was immediately ebbing away and whilst his widow was grieving his loss and battling serious ill health herself, a cacophony of media modes was used to tell the same dubious tales……..for money.

People watched for the same reason they watch train wrecks. ..morbid fascination. The photo images implying Harry and Meghan were being stalked by paps were lifted from unrelated sources (Harry Potter premiere and other places). Many of the quotes flashed on the screen were later revealed to be taken out of context. People's imaged were put up with words implying things they never said (at least one lawsuit is coming from that). The content was unappealing and often didn't ring true. It was so clearly a money grab meant only to provoke response and (Oprah style) gasps that it doesn't deserve any awards.

These 2 people, because of their vendetta and greed, have been caught in lies in both the Oprah interview and the 6 part series in question. Basically, they called the viewers stupid by thinking we wouldn't know or research their claims. They mocked the Queen, who gave her life to the service of others, and the monarchy which has endured for centuries. They have been fired by Spotify and called grifters and lazy. Another media bigwig essentially said they have no talent. I don't think the Emmy's, which have problems of their own, want to have anything to do with this couple. I think viewership would drop even more than it has if these people are even in the audience. I truly believe you will find no Hollywood institutions will want to hire them for anything at all unless they want their business to tank. No matter how HW tries to separate from brand Sussex to save her "career", I believe it is too late for her. The entire world knows her true colours and all that is left for them is to try to complete their Netflix contract.

Even in today's society where traditional morals have taken a knock there is still a line most people think shouldn't be crossed, particularly when you know the persons (the Royal Family) you are attacking with supposedly, "this is THE truth", will not respond in kind or call the obvious lies/ miss truths, promulgated or insinuated, to account in a Court of law. The very fact that this lack of support came from an American organisation indicates just how far down the "acceptable standards" line they crossed. I am surprised, as I thought they would have won the EMMY, it being an American award.

I would love to hear more thoughts from you about what was said in the documentary. In particular the issue that they claim they didn't "say" racist. From my point of view they implied it so heavily that it was seen as fact. Also, by not stating they didn't "say" racist as soon as the frenzy post documentary started they continued to imply that was what they meant. I would like to know if implication has a place in law or would it be dismissed outright.

I completely agree with your sentiments. Looks like in this respect, common sense prevailed - it wd have been an absolute travesty for this docuseries to receive an Emmy nomination. The cruelty inflicted on the late Queen and PP by H&M in the extreme twilight of their lives ( and amplified in the H&M series after Q&PP deaths,ugh) was disgusting and despicable. And once a person is gone, it's too late to ever hope to make amends. I don't know how H can live with himself - M obvs doesn't care- but supposedly H loved his grandparents. It's just so very sad& heartbreaking. But good! No nomination 👍

Do much of MH claims about the royals were false and ignorant-the kids’ titles, the curtsy, and much more, that if the show was nominated, it would look as if the Emmys are endorsing all these lies, which means a documentary can have lies in it and still be taken seriously. Not good!!!

Your explanation is exactly my sentiment. Add to this they knew the RF would not be able to respond because of the never explain never complain policy. It was fighting dirty. Punching at grandparents whilst their hands were tied. This revealed poor character and vindictive and mercenary motivation.
