I started following BGC last year and took the See Some Curls Digital Library for 3 months. I have never looked back. You are so right! You can't cherry pick and really have to be fully committed to the process. Yes, there is a learning curve and I am still working on my base to water ratio for my wash and go but each time I get better. I no longer think of my not so great wash and go as fails but as learning opportunities to improve my next set. Great video.

@@TheKhrissss I exclusively use styling foam. Sometimes with leave in during the winter but I go without during spring and summer. I follow stylequeenbeauty and use the influance foams she recommends. The rosemary and coconut ones are so good against humidity and the hold is great! Even better than my mousse def sets. The honey almond had the lighest hold and gives a fluffier result, but even that one can last me 5 days. honestly my hair needed a treatment before my style longevity improved because the frizziness was so bad 😭 my stylist had to give me an olaplex treatment and she she said it was like I had a new set of hair lmao. One of the best videos I've seen, your love & sincerity for the peace you're exuding is contagious. I've been following the same method since last September and i cannot stop smiling everytime my hair is slowing out lol, i didn't know it could be this fun, easy, beautiful & gratifying. I'll never go back to oils, leave ins or butters, no reason for it. Also my kinky curly stylist taught me how to do a twistout with the stylequeenbeauty mousse so once it's longer I'll mix in twistouts. My hope for the natural hair community is that a huge shift of being open minded to change happens, it's so sad that it's still tons of anger & pushback over something that they don't understand nor trying/ sticking with it/ getting the info.

Thank you so much for watching! I haven't heard of the stylequeenbeauty mousse but you've got me curious now. And YES! Simplifying things has been SO freeing in so many ways but the natural hair community has a lot to unlearn-if definitely takes a huge mindset shift but once you do it's literally life changing!

@TheKhrissss I couldn't agree with you more that it's life changing. I'm hopeful that more naturals will give it a chance and stick with it. The only thing I'm super careful about is ensuring that i get blowout haircuts along with curly cuts to have a good shape

Thanks for sharing your 1 year experience ! In my case back in 2019 I went to a local hair seminar by a natural hair stylist (Montreal, Canada). I was a bit fed up on the dryness I was experiencing after 2 1/2 year of being natural. She was explaning it wasn't necessary to use a lot oil (it has is place). I was doing the loc method so I listened I reduced my use of oil because it was weighing my hair (fine hair). I learned to do wash n go which I tough I couldn't do. I stumble on black hair girl on instagram back in 2020 and they had the same plisophy of caring for natural hair. People who liked them were passionnate. I get it there was also a lot pushback too. Being told that we shouldn't use on our hair like no oil was pretty daring consedering the history of oil and butter in the black community. They did offer alternative and it works for people. Some people still use oil and it works for them. I don't think there one way to care for our hair it just a matter to do what works for you. Personnally my hair is flourishing doing wash n go by using mostly botanical gel and sometime I do use a pinch of oil in my deep conditionner. (sorry it was long comment, lol)
