I always liked to use a weird Fling set with Acrobatics. Wait a turn to get the poison on yourself, then use Fling on the opponent and boom, boosted Acrobatics

I have a pretty neat strategy idea for a rain team special attacking Dudunsparce. It could hold a throat spray, to get a boost after using boomburst. (Maybe also running clam mind for Sp.def as well as Sp.atk?) It gets hurricane, as well as serene grace for confusion as a bonus. For coverage (Fun Dudunsparce fact: it gets coverage of EVERY TYPE, excluding fairy. Gamefreak, please give my man play rough) it could use one of its many special attacking options like earth power, ice beam (20% freeze chance w. serene grace) or glare for that 100% accurate paralysis that can even get ground types.

Here's an idea for you Haydunn: Sand Force Gastrodon. Everyone opts for Storm Drain or Sticky Hold, but never Sand Force sets. Got one that does, but with special rather than physical moves: Surf/Muddy Water for water STAB; Earth Power for ground STAB; Weather Ball for Rock coverage; Tera Blast Steel for Steel coverage, with 3 out of 4 moves having their power boosted by sand, and Steel tera to stay immune. Could alternatively run Tera Rock for special defence boost.

Showcase the adrenaline orb item. If you have a pokemon with the guard dog ability, the orb activates before guard dog does so you basically get +1 in speed and attack for free. edit: Mabostiff gets stab thief so once the orb pops you can steal an enemy item for control or for personal benefit like a berry, scarf/band, etc. Or do the less gimmicky thing in attaching it to a special sweeper.

In regards to Quagsire being obsessed with balls (it was just round things in general I believe,) yeah, I remember Haydunn! The episode you're talking about is Once In a Blue Moon, where a Quagsire stole the GS Ball (remember that thing?) and launched it towards the moon, which is what all the Quagsire did with the round items they took. I also remember that Ash tried to catch a Quagsire early on in the episode and the Officer Jenny was a total b**** to them at first, I think she even tried to arrest them!

I prefer doubles. I see poison heal as highly role-palyable(Role Play). Give it to a sweeper who can't heal. I've skill-swapped it onto Alolan Muk, and used Salazzle to poison him - he was unkillable.
