I`ve come to realize the truth of your message only now with 35! Up until now I`ve spent my entire life making decisions based on "what will other people think of me?". The result was ... ta da da daaa: I became mentally ill. What a surprise ^^. + my life didn`t go anywhere. As you rightly said, if you give to much weight to what other people think of you, you end up in complete paralysis!! Now, I`m trying to recover from that and I`m also trying to UNLEARN all that BUL.L.SH*T I was taught at school and in general while growing up. I think that a lot of this had to do with my upbringing: As a child I was constantly being told: "Don't do this and that. Be quiet ! What will others think of you.?!" So growing up with this "mantra" you eventually become an adult who is constantly under the impression of being under observation and being judged by other people no matter what. ALTHOUGH no one gives AF. !!! And IF THEY DO, it has probably more to do with themselves and their issues and not with you as a person.

I always find these kinda of videos funny, as ppl do watch and see me, at least when I dress the way I usually do, which is extremey outsider-ish where I live, lol. I do it because I want to live my true self and I won't let other people's thoughts and judgements control my life, but it does cause things at times from stalking to catcalling a lot to threats to yelling to getting asked out to getting at times compliments shouted and random positive encounters where I hug with someone complimenting me, lol. As well as other positive experiences. And at times people from all ages going "oooh I think I've seen you around before, I remember you" when I first introduce myself to someone, lol. It's hard at times, though, on my bad days, but these are less and less, and the fun and joy from being myself really outweighs it.

I'm a bit of a loner my self, don't have many friends. But I've realized that a lot of stuff I our society is based on having a social network. Having contacts. That's some of the most important things today. Unless you're into a sort of life style or business that tolerates or perhaps even demands a one man show. However I do believe we are too afraid of what other people think of us, of our actions, statements and lifestyles.

Not just me but tens of thousands of people. It also goes for people with media and paparazzi trauma too. Imagine Princess Diana hearing “no one cares what you’re doing and if that hurts, that’s just your ego running the show here….” in July 1997? There *are* so many people who, for a variety of reasons, have targets on their backs, who have everything they do stalked, documented, and criticized. That level of scrutiny causes extreme agoraphobia, nothing ego about it. It’s utterly debilitating. I do agree no one gives af about people in that no one is going to advocate for another the way they advocate for themselves. I just want to remind the greater public that people who are genuinely fearful to “put themselves out there,” are not *always* at the mercy of only their ego. Sometimes it is due to an unfortunate side of human nature and group psychology that is much more sinister and not their ego or their fault. 😢❤️🙏🏽
