@@leonfrancis3418 Half, he's very intimidating, but that's why him being beaten was used to hype bigger fish; the most vicious criminal don't care about crossing him, don't get me wrong that dude is a unit and have a hunter's instinct, but Guerreiro's better connection made him handle Doakes easily, Chino made him look small really restablishing himself as a powerhouse, and Dexter is obviously leagues more dangerous than Doakes and showed himself superior to him both intellectually and in a fight Honestly if Doakes was less impulsive he could have handled anyone apart from Dex

Doakes is what made season 2 so compelling, without the final reveal how would that season have resolved? The plot needed for someone to be identified as the Bay Harbour Butcher. But as for Rita… ehh. It would have been a interesting plot if she had discovered Dexter's secret. She already did kind of know something as she knew that Dex set up her ex. She just accepted that as for the best and overlooked it. She could have found out in stages that Dexter was a killer, perhaps first by his killing the pedo targeting her daughter … she could rationalise that. But then she discovers more and more of his secret. A real plot twist is she discovers it and accepts it, but doesn't let Dexter know she knows.

Actually his ending in the show was BETTER than the books! In the books he came back from a near death situation as a quadruple amputee who used a machine to talk. Dexter called him “Robo-Doakes” (this sounds like I made it up, but I’m serious!- read the books!)😂 I’m guessing that would not have translated as well to the show🤔
