One small detail i loved: after the headbutt from the scene starting at 14:30, at 15:45 you can see Dexter precisely placing himself near the desk, then purposefully hitting his head on the corner to hide the fact that he hit Doakes 10 seconds prior. This instantly removes all doubt as to who was the aggressor in this scenario. No medical exam or otherwise would reveal that the injury to Dexter's head was caused from a headbutt.

Doakes had spent his career steamrolling over everyone in his way. So finally when he comes up against Dexter, who isn’t intimidated or moved, Doakes gets suspicious. Dexter just happens to also be a murderer. But I have a feeling that Doakes would be this much of an asshole to anyone who didn’t fawn over him or act similar to Dexter.

Eric King (Doakes) is such a phenomenal actor & played his character to perfection, he managed to be cause chaos for Dexter & be hilarious at the same time, I loved every scene he was in & sadly his obsessiveness to Dexter was the reason he got killed, Hopefully we get more flashbacks with (Micheal C Hall) Dexter & Doakes (Eric King) in the new spin off as if Better call Saul can pull it off to perfection, this series can do it too even if we see Micheal Wearing A Wig like he did playing a younger Dexter in first few seasons 🤩

I remember binge watching Dexter, Suits and Breaking Bad during covid, and they all had the same thing in common, they all started out with a 3 season premise, but ended up becoming huge hits, and they all had to make adjustments to the shows to allow them to continue. The actor who played Dokes was a great actor, and was in fantastic shape. Unfortunately the “Will Dokes catch Dexter” or “Will Mike be found out” story lines could only last a couple seasons, and they had to make changes to keep moving forward. Breaking Bad kept Jessie when he was supposed to have been killed off, and brought in Gus Fring to advance the story.

I know its a show and it has to create tension, but at 4:43, Doakes question Dexter about his instinct and how he always get it right. Well he's a forensic blood analyst, its his job to get it right, because he studied it. Also his dad is was a cop, you would think he would teach some things to his kids, especially when they're trying to get into police work. I love this Show, but this was one of the weaker moments in a great show and season.

I feel like it was more of a rhetorical/trick question. Not so much of literally “Why is that,” but he was taking more of a “takes one to know one” angle.
