After I finished reading plenty of comments here, I seriously question why you neets or weebs are getting triggered so hard by the adult faction not respecting pro gaming. I am young (20 years old) and play a lot of video games daily too, also on a fairly high level in certain competitive games such as Dota (which is arguably the hardest competitive game of all time), I played Quake, UT, WoW, CS, SC, everything, so I am not biased. The point that you all seem to not be understanding at all is following: gaming is not sexy. You can be as successful as you want in competitve gaming, for an onlooker it will always be very odd to perceive. If you break it down to the non-digital part, which often is just particles nervously flying around, it‘s tons of adolescent people of meager stature spastically twitching around with their hands on plastic equipment. It has no charme, no sex appeal, no class and no reason to be marketed. In my humbe opinion, it also doesn‘t help that most gaming athletes look like a dried aged steak after 4 days in the fridge when you open it at 2am. That being said, I think most CS:GO players are exempt from that prejudicial objective observation, since most of them are very attractive and give away a good aura objectively. You need to understand that there‘s more to life than money if it comes to success. Justin Bieber isn‘t the best musician isn‘t he? Right. It’s the same concept of these mid-life crisis struck men in their 40s riding around with their leased cars to feel accomplished or cool. Money doesn’t approve you, you can have millions and still be a fucking spastic (check out most young rappers). So stop dickriding your teen idols because they make your leisure time activity, namely masturbating multiple times daily in a juxtaposition to gaming in a darkened room on a 30 degree summer day, commercially viable. I know you feel approved, I know you feel a sense of semi-viability but this, this ain‘t it chief. Gaming will stick around obviously, especially casual gaming, but don‘t be mad for the boomer generation trying to maintain mentally sane values in society, for it‘s very important to also have youth that isn‘t just victim to the video game propaganda brainwashing like the rest. I hope I didn‘t step on anyone‘s feet with this objective accurate depiciton of modern‘s society number one‘s pet peeve. I want to add that physical competitions are often also completely filled with clowns like competitve gaming (CR7, Sergio Ramos, Neymar etc) so I think the equation between real sports and competitive gaming is pretty equal-sided and thus this card can‘t be pulled here. Cya on the rift, noobs.

Yet in E-sport even if you will know everything about for example League Of Legends it won't let you be Pro Player. For sure you could try to be a couch then but to be a Pro Player you need talent as well cause not everyone that plays video games have as good "skill" as they do.

The gap that these news reporters and interviewers completely trivialize with their comments, because they understand the physical gap involved in something like running, but not the skill gap involved in gaming. What we really need is to put some of these people in a lobby with some top players, play a bunch of rounds, and see how absolutely dominated they will get on a consistent basis. That's because it's not a sport. I cannot believe people take it seriously. It was perfectly fine when competitive gaming was a niche market but as someone who has been playing MMORPGs since 1999 I've completely tuned out of any conversation where people take it that seriously. Gaming is supposed to be about immersion and fantasy, and it CANNOT directly be compared to something such as football. I mean the idea of darts as a sport is another example of lunacy. A load of overweight men with beers taking the whole thing seriously. The world has gone mad.

They make like 70 k per year and everyone needs to notice that sometimes you can win and get famous on KZbin or twitch to be a streamer... it is insanely hard to get famous on those platforms so really it’s not a job unless you get extremely lucky. I mean most people who play do have a lot of skill like A LOT but you need to realize that it isn’t a job. Mad respect to esports gamers because I would like to call myself a gamer but I don’t think I’ll ever get noticed for anything no matter how much I play. Those sport athletes get a contract which gives them a monthly pay check not just getting 3 m and not getting payed anymore. 3 mill is A lot don’t get me wrong but it isn’t a job. A job is something in which you get paid monthly or weekly this dude more so one the lottery but not necessarily luck, he won it with skill and that’s what gaming is. It’s the lottery. Unless you get put a gaming team with a contract with monthly pay checks.

Honestly, having watched Card game esports, rocket league esports, and league of legends esports since last year, the skill ceiling for these games is amazing. The fact that people can plan, strategize, and execute within milliseconds of combat and plays is amazing. For years, these newscasters and interviewers have been insulting and chastising these games and the esports professionals without taking into account the tens of thousands of hours it takes to practice, train, and get good at these games. It's ridiculous, and news broadcasts need to change their tone. This is why TV news is dying. They insult anything that is new and raise themselves on a pedestial overlooking other people as if they're any "better".
