First day, i just head to the town to the west of starter area, after looting starting area, and set up camp in the barn beside the hotel. I go further inland to build, and build next to water and a nearby POI. I usually make a beeline to the merchant with car repair kits to get a vehicle before I decide where to build. :-)

I've been trying to find car repair kits and I visited that merchant but they didn't have any

Do the different merchants like to buy different items more than others? Like, does merchant 1 give you 20 relation for a book, and merchant 2 will give you 30 relation for the same book?

I haven't noticed any difference, but to be honest, I haven't payed that close attention. I'll be sure to check, next time i make visits to the merchants
