No one wanted this Porsche 911 until now.

The Porsche 911 996 generation will likely remain the least desirable 911 to ever be produced. With 8 unique generations to choose from, there will inevitably be a loser. Fortunately, though, the least desirable Porsche 911 remains just that; a Porsche 911. I upgraded my 996 with a few mods from the rare GT3 variant in order to make this Porsche easier on the eyes.

Nice! How well did your color match in the sunlight? It seemed pretty good. I have a 996.1 in Arctic Silver as well and I have to do some painting. Mine was originally an aerokit car but the bumper was replaced by a previous owner with a base bumper, after hitting something. I have some other patina to repair and paint too. I looked at the website of that place you bought the bumper from. It seems totally sketchy 😂. Did you read through the “about us” page? 😂

The color is much better in sunlight than my garage light. I think the natural world reflections help blend the colors. Its not perfect but im thrilled with it. Precision911/Precision Porsche (they seem to use both names lol) is an awesome company but I feel your impression. All I can say is the quality is AWESOME and when I called their business number I spoke with someone who seemed like the owner. He was personable and helped me pick the correct Products. Fast shipping, transparency. All good!!! Ill have to go back and read the about page.

Even fewer people know that tbe early 98-99 996 Carrera 3.4, is the lightest road legal 300hp 911 ever. Even lighter than the 996 GT3, is slightly faster than the GT3 0 to 60 at 4.5 dead Even 0 to 100mph at 10.9. Haggerty and Autocar have tested and wrote about it. Even better is that same early 996 is powered by your foot and a throttle cable not a computer. It was also available without traction control. Making it the lightest 300hp 911 throttle cable no tc road legal car produced. Also a dual row IMS with a failure rate of less than 1% not a single IMS like the later 996s and 997. And the aerokit is actually the opposite of its name, produced drag and is just extra weight. The GT3 is much faster with out it. They tested and wrote about that too. I find it humorous that the " least desirable 911 in the least desired 996 generation is the least expensive to buy is really the one you want. I had to buy a 997 S and 991 4S before I realized my modified 996 was the one for me.

I also enjoyed my early 996 until the cylinder head cracked. I tried to find a replacement head but it turns out so many of the early 996 heads are cracked that it’s not so simple to rectify. A fun car to drive, for sure!

@Ed Gasket plenty of heads for sale, m97 heads can even be modified easily to use. 997, boxster even some caymans. So unless those all disappear too heads but I do all my own work and built mine definitely fun car for very little money.

I’m in the process of fitting skirts and GT3 aftermarket bumper to my 996. I think you are making a mistake leaving the 2 lower air vents open. By fitting mesh covers, your rads are less likely to suffer from damage and build up of leaves.
