This is a realistic and normal kitchen organization . The best thing is that she’s not using any fancy organizing baskets, jars etc . She’s used all the basic dollar store articles to store stuff . That is real economic , environmentally friendly and real housekeeping . Great effort and good video .

I have a decent sized kitchen without a pantry and I do have those newer white cupboards. And guess what, I would take your wood cupboards any day over these! I love that you did not decant everything and use a Cricket machine to label everything. I've decided to work over my kitchen once again and do what's best for me which is some decanting, some containers and some just cleaning the shelves out and replacing the jars. I love love love that you have a normal kitchen that you made better. ❤

Love how well one can organize with things from the dollar store! Just a quick tip, put a bucket under your sink. My sink had a bad leak and I didn’t realize until the back of my cabinet was filled with mold! Wish I could go back and buy a bucket instead of replacing my cabinet. Could’ve save SO much money 🤧

good work. having a clean clutter free kitchen environment makes me want to cook more and boost my mood as well. One thing that I noticed is that having a microwave on the counter top took up so much space. Do you have a suggestion how to deal with that?

Same! It does unfortunately take up extra space. It’s a struggle but you gotta do what you gotta do. If you have the space in your kitchen for a microwave cart, that may work better.

Just wanted to mention for future reference, non-perishables past the expiration date can still be brought to local food banks and donation centers. Obviously perishable foods need to be thrown away, but for non-perishables, it's a good option to eliminate waste and help others at the same time 😊❤️

I have light grey formica counters and I found that a magic eraser takes up most stains. My cast iron and my husband are the biggest offenders. Also, for the long baking pans and cutting boars I use a mail organizer. It keeps them upright and take up less space. And isn’t ketchup supposed to be in the fridge?

It sounds like over time the protective coating on your countertop formica has been scoured away, leaving the absorbent layers exposed. Consider Contact paper or Peel-and-Stick material to recover the countertop. It's waterproof and here's lots of KZbin videos that can familiarize you with what works (and what doesn't; some amateurs, in their innocence and inexperience, do a less attractive job). You'll need to use trivets to protect the surface from heat damage; better to use silicone or wood trivets, rather than metal or stone. If you change your mind, want a different product pattern/color, or if you're in a rental and need to undo the treatment, use a blow dryer to help loosen the adhesive, so it will peel off easier. A blow dryer will also help in the application by slightly stretching the material to ease it around non-flat areas and (after razor-cutting an 'X') in flattening bubbles. Now, a few suggestions: -Some adjustable-divider plastic storage containers (used for fishing lures or crafting supplies) will organize your utility drawers better, maybe reduce it to just one drawer (and the organizers stack even in a shallow drawer!) -Small cafe curtain tension rods installed in pairs vertically in the back of your cookware base cabinet (under that short shelf) would help prop up trays, racks, and frying pans all set on edge while establishing an 'official' place for them to go (if the short shelf is adjustable/loose, then pop another tension rod vertically at left & right ends of the shelf, to hold it down) -Consider running a tension rod near the top of the sinkbase cabinet opening (from cabinet side to cabinet side) to hang spray bottles from their squeeze-handles, which would fill dead space, reduce bending over so far to reach them, and clear the cabinet bottom -Consider running a tension rod just under the Double Wall Cabinet above the stove; add S-hooks, and most of the cooking utensils can be hung there (egg turners/spatulas, slotted spoons, ladles, tongs, kitchen shears, hand-strainer/fry-spider, etc); wooden spoons, whisks, silicone spatulas, spurtles, pasta scoop, and skewers can all be left in the utility crock and will be easier to find and grab by hanging the other utensils -Unless you have small kids, the microwave could be moved to the top of the fridge, saving counter space -Switch out the toaster with the two white ceramic containers; the toaster shouldn't be so close to the sink for safety reasons -The blender is well-situated due to proximity to fridge (for filling) and sink (for cleaning) -Any food affected by moisture should not be stored directly above or below the sink or above the stove (serving/storage containers) -Any food affected by heat should not be stored directly above the stove (no oils, grains, flours, or mixes) -Do a 'Work Station' analysis of your kitchen as to what tasks you do where, then rearrange to consolidate tools to task area -Corner Area: food prep due to proximity to fridge, sink, and stove (prep tools); if MW is moved to fridge top, slow cooker can be moved to the countertop left of the stove which makes more prep space in the corner -Narrow Wall Cabinet (right of stove): spices, sauces, oils, broths/bouillons, instant soups, gravy mixes, crackermeal/panko -Narrow Base Cabinet (right of stove): if cookware (and tension rods) are moved to Double Base Cabinet (left of stove), this cabinet can either store food prep bowls and appliances OR hide a bag-lined trash can -Double Wall Cabinet (over stove): bottom shelf would be perfect for pot/pan lids; consider also for trays/bins of small cooking tools (skewers, steaming basket, splatter guard, aluminum foil, parchment paper, cheesecloth, baking pans, small appliances) -Double Wall Cabinet (left of stove): best place for use as a pantry; needs more shelving to maximize space use -Double Base Cabinet (left of stove): if cookware is moved there from right of stove, then one person can prep for cooking while another cooks; store root vegetables, a basic home tool kit/box, picnic/lunchboxes/lunchbags, bulk food backstock, decor items; would be a good place for a plastic multi-drawer bin to consolidate and organize ready-to-eat individually-portioned snacks for kids and adults, for easy grab even if someone is cooking or cleaning in the kitchen -Narrow Wall Cabinet (right of sink): perfect place for glassware, due to proximity to fridge (for filling) and sink/rack (for cleaning)

Is there a wax you can use on the counter tops to prevent staining? People use wax on dining tables... why not the counter? Just make sure you use a cutting board for any slicing. Should work! Wish I had as much counter space as yours. I just finished organizing my kitchen... feels good.

The wax you are talking about is for wood. It actually gets absorbed by the wood and makes a barrier. It wouldn’t work on a non porous surface like formica. Good thought though.

You are blessed to have cabinet and drawer space tonwork with. I have only 3 drawers to work with. And not a lot of cabinets. You've done a great job. Are you in a rental or your own house? I only ask that because a cost effective way for your countertops might be the contact paper made specifically for countertops from amazon. The contact paper I'm speaking of is usually its made of a thicker quality material. Its not so costly. If you have the budget and younown your home you might look into counter top refinishing paint by either, black and decker or rustolieum. Or even look into investing in buying butcher block countertops. Just some ideas. YHWH bless you.
