Thank you for sharing Matilda with us - I can't get enough of her! Also, congrats on the good progress on your TBR list. And welcome to home ownership - so many things crop up that take longer and cost more than one would think (or wish)!

I kid you not, I have been wanting new sunglasses and had the thought yesterday "Regan hasn't done a Glasses USA sponsor in a while, I'll wait and hope she does one soon" and you read my mind 😍

I tend to only read contemporary romances if they are queer romances, but I like the concept of Beach Read. And it always feels good to check off TBR books!

I may be biased as a Michigander myself but we do have some pretty amazing lakes and the UP is beautiful if you're looking to go somewhere with more nature than people.

I grew up in Michigan before moving to Texas and I'd probably recommend it for visiting. lake Michigan is huge, gorgeous, and super cold every time of the year. the dunes are neat, Travis city has a bunch of bookish things & cherry festivals, and Detroit has amazing food you can't get anywhere else. definitely a state worth a trip!! ✋🏻💖

Beach Read is a book that has STUCK with me since reading and I now reread the entire book every year on my birthday 😂. At this point certain passages are so heavily annotated that I can no longer lend it out to friends. I’m from England and since finding out the US has a different ending I can’t help but think it could leave a sour ‘cheesy’ taste in peoples mouths. The UK edition has the perfect ‘happy for now” send off that felt more genuine to the feels of the actual novel. Hearing your thoughts on one of my favourite book makes me want to read it now and eschew my yearly schedule ❤️

What!!! I did not know it had a different ending 😳

I've seen several comments about the English version having a different ending (that seems preferable) but I can't figure out how to get a copy of the English version - even on Book Depository which I think is based in the UK?? Anyone - especially in the US -- have tips on getting a non-US version?

The UK version of Beach Read has a different, less cheesy ending than the U.S. version. Yes, the lake along the western coast of Michigan around Holland or Saugatuk as well as the around the whole upper peninsula are stunning and clear. It’s an amazing place to visit.

A Million Junes by Emily Henry really surprised me. Both of her more recent books are great also, but A Million Junes is one of her earlier books, and is so different in such a good way. I just discovered Emily Henry this year, but everything from her has me head over heels. Glad you enjoyed her writing too!

Loved this video! 24 hour readathons are a lot of fun! I really enjoyed Beach Read and I’m not even a big romance reader. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed with Velvet Was The Night even though Moreno Garcia is one of my favorite authors. I just felt like it was sort of chaotic. Also, Matilda is adorable!

You should come to Michigan! Traverse City is a great area to visit, though I might be a bit biased because I live there :). There's beaches galore, and the industry is tourism based so there's plenty of places to stay. Come up north!!
