I’ll have to check them out. Some people hate weight but my car is nearly 3kg so weight doesn’t seem to bother it. I will push these carbon rings of mine next year and see how they hold up to the speeds I am putting down now.

In no prep drag racing is it mandatory that you run slicks ?
@Dorkyand402 жыл бұрын
Not at all. Any rubber tire.
@Starkster502 жыл бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 Thank you for answering, My theory was as you probably know in real drag racing they have a DOT approved tire class and they run some unbelievable times so I was thinking a little to much and wondered if a dirt track tire which is basically a slick with diagonal grooves cut into could be an advantage on less than perfect roads as long as the rear doesn't push in a diagonal direction, or the Proline short course truck truck tires designed like cheater slicks. Once I get my car and make the necessary changes of I going to run slicks but the tires I mentioned come in different compounds as well, I ve learned in life you can achieve various things thinking out side the box.

If you want to test you need to make some belts or something. The belted tires are an absolute must on these. Some of us ran proline hole shots 2 years ago but the ballooning became just too much an issue once we all started making power.

@some198720033 жыл бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 they are still 100% usable but they have always just taken those extra steps to get them ready to glue or put on bead locks. no prep is still super super new so we will definitely see some other brands come out with tires soon. same thing is going to happen with the cars. just look how short course started with the slash and crapy tires to where it is now with amazing tires and cars that make slashes look like toys.
@locomotive2823 жыл бұрын
Bead locks only work for crawlers, those things will fly off at no prep rpms. Your gluing method is slightly off. You need to wash the tire and wheels thoroughly in soap and water first, forget the alcohol. You want to pinch the tire and inject a small amount around the inside bead, then go around the bead like you were doing and let the capillary action of the CA seal the tire. The imperfection on the interior bead don't matter because the tire rubber actually melts where it bonds with the wheel.
@Dorkyand403 жыл бұрын
you gotta be sloppy with these..making it look perfect and scale doesnt work..itll rip right off during a carpet burn out. not sure if there is a right answer but ill be trying it both ways. the car is running good so at least now if i go a stray i know where to look for sure..unlike my crazy car at the end of last season

@@Dorkyand40 yeah on the inside in the ribbing there is a few ribs that don’t look right in both tires in the set I have. I got them used with 2 or 3 passes on them. So I don’t know if it is a mold imperfection or something the kid did when he mounted them on his beadlocks.

Hey man, new subscriber here, and new to 2wd no prep. Just started to play around with the losi rtr last 2 weekends. I had 3 people who have been doing this for a while, (one of which i seen get 1.95 75mph hit right in front of me)…all of them told me, before i mount up my proline reactions, remove the foams. I didn’t get the reason why, but the first set, i did not, but mounted them on proline split six beadlocks, so i could always remove them later. I even got a prop balancer, and balancing clay which helped tremendously, but they still suck, because the tires are out of shape and not very round. Today i just mounted a new set of reactions, to a new set of proline split six plastic beadlocks, this time without the foams, but stupid me did not check the wheels first, to see if they are vented. Not that big of deal, I didn’t bother balancing them yet, and i will take them back apart. I have wider plastic wheels (showtime+), and wider belted slicks(reaction+) ready for glueing up, but I don’t want to make a mistake by glueing them up with foams in them yet. I was just wondering if you have ever run the belted reactions, without the foams, and were the wheels vented, or not?? I just looked at some Pomona drag wheels I’ve had for over a year, that i glued some reactions to, with the foams in, and it turns out those wheels were already vented stock. The split six’s I’m attempting to use now are not, but technically, those have been out for a while, and made for short course trucks, made way before the dr10 was even released. Sorry for all this info, but it seems like you know what your doing, especially after watching one of your more recent videos of using the Maclan DRK 160, which would be one of my future purchases. I gotta get some a the basic shit down first.
@Dorkyand403 жыл бұрын
I’ve only ran reactions no foams and only wheels vented. Now I cover the hole with duct tape before a race to trap some air. Some people are pumping air into them. All wheels have vent holes.
@OH-Hobbies3 жыл бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 Thank you sir, for that info on what you run, and I will definitely take that advice. My proline split six plastic beadlocks are not vented, and there is definitely air trapped in them. I will figure it out with some more tuning, and testing.
@Dorkyand403 жыл бұрын
You’ll want to get away from those or add carbon fiber rings that have screws for the 12 holes. Just FYI beachrc assault rings.
