One neat thing about Companions being nerfed and banned af is they are all super cheap to get a set of for cubes, and i feel like building a cube that revolved around each companions ability would be neat

I still hold Companion as a mechanic would be fine if they had designed the cards better. Even potentially with the old companion rule. In particular, the restrictions should be strict enough that there should never be a “free” companion, and at least half of them did it perfectly. Umori, Keruga, Lutri, Obosh, Gyruda, and Zirda are all powerful, but you have to make serious concessions in deck building to include them. A few even saw limited modern play, but were never dominant. The problem is only with the cards where the restriction is easy to hit anyway. Jegantha is, I think, the greatest offender on this. If Lurrus had checked every card and not just permanents he may have been ok, although even then he may have been too strong. Kaheera is mostly fine although her appearance in creatureless decks is suspicious. And Yorion was easier than a lot of people expected.

What is the meaning behind the "they have the stones" sentence? I get it means "they have the best draw", but It doesn't make sense to me 😅

it's a term from poker; the normal term when a player has a hand that is going to beat most everything reasonable is 'they have the nuts' the upgraded term from that is when the player has literally the best POSSIBLE hand, which is 'the stone nuts.' When poker players use it outside of poker it usually means something like 'I was going to lose because my opponent simply had everything they wanted and I could not beat their best draw.'
