Thanks for your video! I been making melt & pour & cold process soap for about 5 years now it started as a hobby & terrible problems with my own sensitive skin issues! It has become a small business for me & I use the double boiler method! I feel it allows me to have better control of how much heat I apply! I put my water in a fry skillet on low heat & my pot inside there! I can really get in there & scraped down any soap on the sides of the pan to get it all melted. I am getting several orders ready while I watch your video! You might want to try mixing Lavender & Lemon fragrance oil I think it smells Divine. Would love to see your goat milk soap process!❤Happy soaping!

Goat milk soap process I’m working out. First batch (only batch) total fail. I think I know what I did wrong and plan to try again tomorrow. As for the lavender and lemon, oh yea, I’m gonna try that. I have a lavender and lemon cookie recipe that I love. We tend to have sensitive skin and some eczema so I’m really looking forward to making soap from raw goat’s milk.

I have never made goat milk soap but I had watched a lot of you tube video’s about the process! Most seem to get it right after a few tries! I plan on trying to make a batch of cold process soap with soap shreds! I do put goat milk powder in my cold process soap batches for a more luxurious soap bar! Good luck on the soap you will get it!

@@nadiaasad7812 First decided on the kind of soap you want to make! Melt & Pour or Cold Processed! I started with a melt & pour kit that I purchased from Amazon! Lots of videos on making soap! I like Dean Wilson for melt & pour & Yellow Cottage Soapery she has one of best you tube videos for a beginner for Cold Process soap making! Also I like The Nerdy Farm Wife and Ladybug Lane Soaps. Just to name a few! I started by making soaps for my friend’s & family and often times gave them as gifts! I purchased a lot things I didn’t need & had a lot of soap I made that I didn’t sell. Now I plan more and I sell at fairs & to friends. My soaps are made to order & for holiday’s my cold process soap will be made in October but will only be a small amount! Watch videos learn the process & get a feel for it before you invest a lot money in soap making! Make sure you like it first! I hope this helps!

With the pour and melt, you could add some coffee fragrance oil and dried coffee grounds. Just spread the used, wet grounds on a paper towel or paper plate and let air dry before using. You may be able to add a little cocoa powder for coloring but I’ve never tried the cocoa powder with pour and melt do a little at a time to see how it does.

They are always changing and evolving but if he likes patchouli, a patchouli and orange is yummy. I don’t have an exact ratio as I add orange to a cup and then scent it with patchouli until I get the smell that I find pleasant. Eucalyptus, spearmint, peppermint are all good clean minty scents too. If you go to www.eocalc.com/ you’ll find tons of blends there. I love this website and it’s a big help. Another one is pink grapefruit (80% of the scent) with a little litsea and a tad patchouli. Have fun!

@SimplyMadeHomestead
@SimplyMadeHomestead 12 күн бұрын
I made this video 3 years ago and I have no idea what the manly scent was that I referenced but I can send you in the right direction to discovery. For fragrance oils you can find yummy scents at www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com. There are lots of other places out there but this is my favorite. Biyrboned Tobacco has been a hit with the guys. Also, Cashmere is another favorite but I get it from brambleberry.com. For essential oils, go to eocalc.com where you can find eo blends with the descriptions of the scent to help lead you in the right direction. You can also select eo oil scents that you have on hand or that you like and see what others may have come up with. Soap making is a really fun adventure and how far you get into is up to you and how much you enjoy it. I have moved into cold process soap making so if your interest in that, be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell because a video on how to do just that will be coming out soon. Thank you for joining me and I’d love to hear about the eo blend or scent that you come up with.

Hi!! Does the soap only harden after 24hrs?? You can’t move the molds or transport it?? Asking because I want to have a gathering and got a kit so everyone can make their own soaps and take them home. How would that work?
@SimplyMadeHomestead
@SimplyMadeHomestead Жыл бұрын
They’ll probably be hard enough to move after a couple of hours but they’ll need to be kept flat and moved very carefully. The molds are usually very bendy so if they all bring a little plate to put their mold on, it’ll be much easier to carry and keep safe.

@SimplyMadeHomestead
@SimplyMadeHomestead Ай бұрын
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I figure how much it cost me to make a batch, divide it by the number of bars and then multiply that by 3. Some soapers multiply by 4 but you just have to do what you think will be a good price for your area. I do it by 3 because it cost a third to make a bar, a third goes into the business, and third is my pay. I hope that helps.

Need to learn how to make goat milk soap without the lye, any other chemicals & fragrance. I have super sensitive skin so I need my soap in its purest form. Can you help me. Tried to go to your store, but it kept saying needs to reload. Push the button and nothing happens.
@SimplyMadeHomestead

I’ll have to check on that. But here’s the link, GoofygoatSoapworks.Etsy.com. All of the soap in my shop is made with lye because you have to have lye to make soap. But they are very gentle and the 2 that I would recommend for very sensitive skin is the Pink Salt and the Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey. Both are all natural and made with skin loving ingredients. All of my soaps are made with skin loving ingredients, lol, but those 2 have some extra good ones. I hope that helps and if you purchase some, please let know what you think of them and how your skin reacts.

How do you make it harden and last?
@SimplyMadeHomestead
@SimplyMadeHomestead Жыл бұрын
Soap hardens quickly with the melt and pour method of soap making. As for making it last, keep the bar you’re using out of any direct streams of water and on a soap dish. Something that drains where the soap can dry between uses.

I’m not sure I understand your question but if you want to make soap using coconut oil and Shea butter rather than the melt and pour that I used in the video, you’ll have to use lye (sodium hydroxide) and you’d need to add some oils.
