I've been shocked my 120 ac house electricity, and by a coil pack. Coil pack made me almost drop. As I was going down I let go and managed to catch myself. Ac just tickled me.

So if both sides dont spark whats the cause

I answered in the wrong spot. Here you go... Next would be to verify coil - control from the PCM and the result of that test would dictate the next move. Possiblities for no spark on both towers of a waste spark coil, car still runs but a 2 cylinder misfire... 1.Bad coil 2.open or shorted coil - control wire 3.open or shorted PCM coil driver 4. An input problem (crank sensor with a reluctor issue)

"And this is not like, death electrocution" Electro: electricity Cution: death Electrocution: death by electricity. The word you're looking for is "shocked", not electrocuted.

But heres my point if one side of that coil is sparking something is very wrong , that system spark goes out one side of the coil through the lead jumps the plug gap goes through the block jumps the dead cylinder on exhaust back through the other lead back to the other side of the coil , it cant work on one side and not the other !!! It needs a full circuit! If its jumping one one side how is it getting back to coil ???
@ScannerDanner5 ай бұрын
It has a return path through the housing of the coil. This is actually very common

@@ScannerDanner I assumed it was the style like the 3.8 Buick V6 the coil has 2 high voltage terminals , and no ground on the coil , it goes out one terminal jumps the plug on firing cylinder through the block jumps the plug in its companion cylinder that dead ( on exhaust) back through a lead to the other side of the same coil ! So this one is like old coils ? One side of the high voltage is grounded and the other to a lead .

Just swap coils if the misfire changes to the cylinder that you put the suspected coil pack on viola!
@ScannerDanner4 ай бұрын
You can't swap coils on this model. It's all one unit.

Actually, electrocution means death by electricity. The term was created when the electric chair was invented. Otherwise, we're just talking electric shock

Those sparks lit me up thru some 10kv rated electrical rubber gloves. It was that moment, I knew I facked up.
