On my father n laws t1200 I hold the key to start w8th nothing then turn off then try again and wiggle the engagement lever then it starts so that tells me the cable is bad and not engaging the switch. I might just change the cable and selinoid with costs not bad. Great film

Hey T-Bone I just found your channel and have a question. I have a D140 John Deere that runs hot and after using, the throttle doesn’t want to rev down. It’s fine when you first start it. When doing projects I like to lower the throttle when I get off for a short time. If you have a video that would be great. But, ant insight would be greatly appreciated. I have this mower. I only use non ethanol gas. Lately, it will only run with choke on. When I try to run it turns off. Thanks for any help.

you are the only person i have found that showed the cable fix. hope this is my only issue. had been having a blade spinning issue after disengagement for a while. after sitting it would start but now it doesn't. battery is good.

Have the same mower. Battery wasnt charging so a quick inspection of the voltage reg showed purple wire burned out where it connects to volt reg. I am having trouble locating the diode. Am wondering if there actually is a diode on this model?

regulator equipped models, diode is part of regulator.

Hmmm that's odd, it's a 2stroke. Maybe a gas/oil mix leak. Where is the leak coming from? Step 1.. clean the machine, 2 run it, 3 determine where oil residue is coming from. Wish I had a better answer for ya my friend. Or just bring it by our shop and we will figure it out. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend

That was a customers mower. There is a guy on Ebay in Indiana, I think. Go to Ebay and type in Briggs and Stratton replacement engine. He has a ton of ads on there. Look up his company and call him with your model number and he will get you the correct replacement.
