Sorry, I'm a bit late to this video for my comments Correction to your comment, the very first Corgi 261 Aston Martin DB5 in Gold was released for the Goldfinger film, not the Thunderball film. I remember this toy so well, as I pestered my Mum to buy it for me when it was first released by Corgi, I even remember the price of it, 10 shillings & 6 pennies, as it was written on the box, and to say I was excited is very much an understatement. Another fact about this toy is, that Corgi was in so much of a rush to cash in on the Goldfinger films release, they hadn't got a Aston Martin DB5 Casting to use, so they used a Casting of the DB4 they had in stock, and its very noticeable if you look at the toy closely, the rear lights are for the DB4 and it has only one Petrol filler flap, the DB5 has two Petrol filler flaps, one on each side.

When I was about 10/11 I was at the local mall and I saw the Autoart James Bond Aston Martin DB5 with all the fun gadgets. Back then it was 120 Canadian Dollars, I was shopping with my grandma and she said it was too much for a toy car, so I started saving and saving. But when I finally had enough it was gone. That was almost 20 years ago, but about 5 years ago Hotwheels made the same car in 1/18 with all the gadgets and I finally got what I had been searching for since I was a little boy. Of course my collection has grown since then and I have just completed a custom 1/18 scale car based on the Living Daylights Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

I really like the Battle Damaged DB5 displaying the gattling guns. I bought it as soon as I saw it. This look really gives the car a beastly, zero-fucks given, "gloves-off" vibe. An aggressive persona, like it got fed up with all the damage suffered through the years and across all the movies, and now decided to stop pulling punches and go out in a last hurrah

Great video! Me being the age of 41 I’m just starting to collect these awesome new Bond Corgi cars. I got OHMSS and the No time to Die Aston Martin V8. I got my eyes on the shot up DB-5 . I’m probably going to get it this week. Question about your two Gold DB5’s you just showed. Have you ever gotten them out of the box or are they sealed in ? Again great video. I’m going to watch more of your content!

@@BROOKSCOLLECTABLES The danbury mint and franklin models are very nicely finished but whenever I have bought one I start praying because boy are they fragile . I recently bought a franklin mint bentley s2 . When I arrived a couple of things had come off and having unsteady hands I took the model to a watch maker kind of thinking outside of the box and he did a fantastic job . I think the danbury mint james bond aston martin cost me fifty pounds when I bought it .

sadly we sold out after i did the video, and i cant get any from corgi until march 2022 ! which is mental, either they are trying to create demand, or they've totally messed up the ordering 😂😂😂 the only thing i can recommend is looking on the corgi website at the dealer list and give some of the shops a ring someone must have a bit of stock, and we all do mail order ! or let me know and i'll save you them when i can get them again. hope you enjoyed the vide and thanks for commenting ! stay safe. Pretty sure the V8 casting is the original casting that Corgi did back in the 80’s. The Ni Time to Die version doesn’t have the sun roof and the skis.

@@slysnide I wouldn't say they are cheaply made. The part that broke on yours are photo etched pieces, hence why they are very thin. It should not break unless you snagged the wiper onto something. Gotta be careful with these display only models. Then again maybe it was due to the way the car was packed or just poor quality control.
