i cried listening to this album. I'm an anti zionist jew, who's been called an anti semite by my own people and lost lifelong friends over the course of the past year. I feel lost and sad and hopeless and it's been nice but haunting to lean into those emotions while listening to this album. Ceasefire now. I think at this point in his career, its plain to see his motives for talking about serious or political issues, wearing his feeling on his sleeves comes in many forms and the repetition of the title goes beyond stretching the video length for length sake. Try to see beyond typical youtuber video behavior here - there's a respectful and solemn tone throughout the message of the video and the fact that it *doesn't end with every other videos plug of 'be sure to like subscribe and tell me what i should review next!!' means the focus is solely on what is being repeated: the (increasing) death toll of the situation that the art is about. watching the genocide in Palestine unfold while studying Latin American history is debilitating. This is not the only genocide the U.S. has knowingly funded, the Mayan genocide (over 160,000 Mayans killed) was a result of the U.S. coup for the sake of Chiquita expanding their empire in Central America. FDR's goodneighbor policy funded authoritarian regimes (many of which comitted genocides against indigenous people) in Latin America for the sake of anticommunism and allowing multinational corporations to expand. The U.S. kept close diplomatic relations with Trujillo, the dictator of the Dominican Republic, who operated a brutal fascist regime, and carried out a genocide of Haitians, and they only assassinated him when there were fears of a communist revolution. These are only a few examples of the atrocities the U.S. has funded in modern history.

@@canalzinhawhat was that nonsensical cacophony that you typed out? Be coherent
@GL-jh7me28 күн бұрын
How is it debunked? Hamas spent billions of foreign aid building terror tunnels underneath Gaza. Whether you stand with Israel or not you can’t deny that if you call Israel genocidal you would be ignorant to not think Hamas is equally as genocidal (and much more public about it, go read their charters). War is a terrible thing and these civilian deaths can’t be justified of course but I wonder what you would’ve done different on October 7th? Remember those 1,500 people were civilians and they didn’t deserve to get raped (still) and killed. I hope you don’t just think it was a long time coming, that was the excuse for 9/11 as well, in reality the victims had nothing to do with it (same as innocent Palestinians).

Reminder for everyone who may potentially show up and get mad at Fantano for talking about this: Content creators can talk about whatever they want. Including politics. Especially with serious issues like this. You’re not mad because he’s talking about politics and he’s “just a music reviewer.” You’re mad because you don’t want to admit that he’s talking about views that don’t align with yours. You’re saying he should “get back to talking about music” because you’re too closed minded to have an honest and open conversation even if it makes you uncomfortable. You’d rather plug your ears and pretend the issues aren’t present. But they are. You can pretend all you want, but you can’t escape the reality. That being said, free Palestine, and I’m gonna reiterate what Macklemore has said: “fuck America.”

@@blastexxplayysyt3920Yeah i do. America is still bad. They are the ones funding this genocide and have conducted many others, have funded terrorists groups including the taliban, and bombed and murdered an entire innocent country because the person who signed off bombs at the time was racist. Sadly i was born here and not the uk, and sadly im much too poor to do anything about that now. And even then, telling me to live in a country i support is... As of today, the death toll is 43k+. Those numbers only take into account directly killed by Israeli bombs and bullets. It does not count those killed by hunger, thirst, those killed under the rubble or who re still under the rubble, killed as a result of falling debris and so on. Since those numbers are based on direct reporting, it also does not take into consideration those killed while abducted by the IDF, those are counted as missing. All this is to say, the death toll is VERY conservative and this is coming from Garza's own health ministry as well as NGO's like UNRWA or what little is left of it. More than likely, after all this has ended, mass graves are discovered, the death toll will be in the 100,000+

A Chatpile album and a Godspeed album all in the same month? I am so grateful. Both albums offer up a stark, dread filled, and deeply honest reflection on the world we endure. Our short lives-our health, our well being, our hopes, our dreams, our dignity, our freedom, our youth-are being sacrificed to service the interests of the powerful. Unite or die, we must collectively defend ourselves from the war waged against working people and the vulnerable by the capitalist class and the imperialist states.
