Thank you for all your helpful info!! I usually make journals, not junky but not so formal that they look store bought either. The thing is I still love bits of gold in them. The star cards are cute for some things but might be out of place in my journals. Do you ever use the foil in a more subtle way?love to see if you do!!!💕

Mary, I have to say that I LOVE your videos and your classes. You are so down to earth and real that it makes it so fun! Thank you so much for all your inspiration. I have a couple tips with the glue press. You want to be sure to just barely tighten the cap down. If it is too tight then it creates a vacuum and the glue oozes out continuously. Also, to fill to bottle with Bearly Art glue, leave the black cap that you put a tip in on the Bearly Art glue bottle without another tip in it and it will fit right down into the Nuvo bottle and you can just squeeze it in with no mess. Hope that helps and makes sense. I LOVE my glue press. My best purchase of last year and worth every penny!!!

I'm glad you used the new recoil snips in this video, because I'd forgotten to thank you for reviewing them in your other one. I have long been on the lookout for good fussy cutting scissors. The most recent ones I got looked promising, just based on seeing them used in videos. Unfortunately, the tip is not super-sharp, so it can sometimes "bite" into the paper I'm cutting or even not cut all the way to the tip at other times. Plus, my thumbs are wider than average, so finding small scissors where my thumb fits comfortably through the handle hole is difficult. Again unfortunately, while my thumb mostly fits in these scissors, it's still a bit snug. I have the "original" (small & large) Tim Holtz non-stick scissors, but never liked that they are serrated and the tip is a bit "dull," so I don't like using the small ones for fussy cutting. But I really want the non-stick coating. So now I'm trying to justify the purchase of the recoil snips. I mean, my current, almost-good-enough fussy cutting scissors technically DO work well enough, so I technically DON'T need yet another, different pair, but I'd still like that better mouse trap. Oh, the angst! LOL Anyway, at the risk of having Mama ask me, "ANOTHER pair of scissors???" I may just go for it. I also want to thank you for demonstrating less-waste crafting. I love how your cards came out. I was wondering if using your die cutting machine to run the foil & cardstock through - minus a die, of course - would make the foil adhere better to the double-sided tape, like it does with the Duo gel. Might prevent "rough" areas in the foil. Just a thought. Thank you for sharing. I always love to hear your smile. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)

I'm not totally familiar with it because it's been a very long time since i"ve used it but I believe it dries tacky or sticky. Then you could probably us it with foiling. Thank you so much for a fun video, Mary! I LOVE the Deco Foil Transfer Gel - it comes in a pen tube too! 💖Ooooh the adhesive application for the foil is something I always forget about. ThermoWeb and Gina K. Designs also have toner sheets in black, clear and white for our laminator machines - makes foiling triple fun! AND, if you've not tried the Colour Harmony foils, you must, they are delicious! 💝

Tip: You don't need to run the deco foil/card through a die cutting machine. I've done the transfer by putting the foil over the tacky deco "glue" and used a craft stick to burnish the foil to it. My pattern of glue was only on half the card (not like the stars), so it didn't take too much time to do.

I purchased the glue press because I’ve started having issues with my thumb and pain from squeezing the bottles of glue. I noticed immediately that the bearly arts glue was thinner and as the nuvo bottle got closer to empty, it was more difficult get it to come out. Since both bottles had glue in them and I didn’t want to buy new ones I managed to switch the tips so that the bearly arts glue has the tiny tip and the thicker nuvo glue has the larger tip. I did have glue everywhere during the process but managed to finally get it cleaned up. 😅. I do like my glue press, it has allowed me to keep making cards. 😊

I haven't checked all the comments to see if this was addressed, but to fill a bottle with glue, it helps if you squeeze the bottle you are filling, drop in some glue, then release the squeeze and it will drop down. No oozing. It does take a while.

You can use toner sheets for the left over piece of foil or even better, Gina K sells poly glaze toner sheets, which are white 😍😍

They say that the glue leaks a little when you leave it in the holder and that is so it will seal the end so it doesn't dry out. I leave mine out all the time except when I take it to a crop
