As a bird watcher kind of person, I am so glad they did have the detail of the feeder being red, but the nectar being clear/non-colored. A lot of people used to use whatever clear jars and whatnot they had available and then dyed the nectar red so it’d be visibly attractive to the hummingbirds, but the food dye was so unhealthy for the birds themselves, so its preferred to use in colored nectar and use a bright colored container instead.
@lilbit153510 ай бұрын
I agree, the plants don't work without resin. When I do the plants, I take a drop of resin (there's always some left over from a different capsule) to hold the plant in place and THEN put the dirt on top. of the resin.

Yeah, I use my own UV resin and just mix it with the dirt or rocks. Then I pack it in in layers, and surround the base of the plant in resin-ified kinetic sand. Lol. With the orchid, I mixed the rocks with a few drops of resin and packed them in around the base of the orchid. It turned out SO good. It looks like the orchid was recently watered because the resin makes the rocks look wet, but I think that just makes it look better. I was able to pile rocks on top in a specific way that I thought looked good and lock them in place. And I don’t have to worry about my cat knocking it over and sending rocks flying. I much prefer resining them in to place, even if I have to spend a little money on my own resin.

the instructions telling you to trim the flower stems before putting them in the vase is such a nice touch. You have to do that with real fresh cut flowers, so it's a very cute and well thought out detail to add. 😊

I’ve learned from other KZbinrs that there are codes on the capsules. Some have pin holes. The location of the pin hole indicates what you are getting but it’s not the object the pin hole is close to. The ones you’re unboxing here have numbers written on the capsules indicating which one you’ll be getting. I hope this is helpful to you and others… I know it was for me. ❤
@Annie_Annie__10 ай бұрын
Yep, and the original Lifestyle ones don’t have pinholes, they have a tiny number written on them that corresponds to what’s in it. Also, if you’re just looking for the birds, you can just feel along the sides of the ball. All the sets that hang have a hook in the display shelf. Opposite the hook, on the outside of the shelf is a raised circle. That raised circle is very easy to feel even through the packaging. If you just get ones with hooks, you’ll either get birds or pothos. So it _greatly_ increases your odds of getting bird sets.

Hey Jackie! You can try put on a thin layer of resin over the top of the soil and plants, just make sure it touches all walls/sides of the container and fully connects with the plant. I do this and it helps the non resin lifestyle plants to stay completely in place and nothing can escape lol, hope this gives you an idea to try! It may help you enjoy those plant mini verse ones that don’t come with resin.

This might be a controversial thing to say, but that poor little hanging plant (pothos) stole my heart. I do love all of these, but I used to have one of those plants (before it sadly passed away ie. I forgot to water it). These would be so cool to make a little conservatory with, in a glass jar or a mini green house. One with a window, so the birds could visit. Some of the projects don't fit in the displays, but you can put them on top of the display, or in a different space altogether. I think anyone with a doll house or similar would love these. And, aquiring all those materials and super detailed plants surely would add up to this price.

The hanging plant had the paper on it so you could shove the paper & plant in the pot then put the dirt on top of the paper. That’s what keeps it in the pot and not falling out. And hummingbirds love red, if your feeder isn’t red then you need to make the liquid you give them red so they will be attracted to it and visit you daily.

I have been thinking about these sets after watching your videos (here in the UK they seem similar price value wise to Canadian prices). I think that you are actually paying for the attention to detail in all the little side products and even the miniature items themselves. I mean. Just look at how detailed those little flowers etc are, and the vase boxes etc. in terms of production value they seem great and much better than some of the mini shopping products/toys you unbox. The resins is, of course, an ‘expensive' feature, but I don’t think it is what raises the price point.

MGA makes dolls after all and all these blindbox miniatures are sold with the dolls and toys, not with the craft kits. Not everyone who likes cute miniatures wants to do a resin craft, so I'm glad not every craft involves resin.
